I cant sleep. My boy starts kindergarten tomorrow and I just feel like I’ve failed him for the last 5 years. Ive been an angry yelling piece of garbage mom. Overwhelmed and overstimulated mom of three but thats no excuse for my son telling me he feels like he is not a good kid because he’s always in trouble with his siblings and im always yelling at them . I feel so guilty that I can’t control my emotions and triggers from my childhood I am trying daily to break the cycle and be better than how I was raised but when im triggered all that goes to shit . I become a monster and shittiest mom on earth . And now I’ll be sending him off to school and miss out on his days until he is grown and il miss out on all his time and I want to make it right with him. I want him to feel good about himself and worthy or love and confident but I have not instilled that in him and have only shamed him into not liking himself and its killing me . I dont deserve these precious angels . I try and try and still get angry scream and yell and lose my cool . Why cant I be good!!

Its not too late to change the course of things and learn how to do things differently. Maybe therapy can help you heal your childhood wounds and you can do other things to destress like: journaling or something you find relaxing.
You can also apologize and try to make a conscious effort to stop yelling. Tell him all the good things you see about him and develop a routine where you can spend quality time together. Like a family game night or cooking night or something where you and the kids are having fun.
You can learn how to instill confidence in him and the rest of your kids. Also is it possible that you can get a self care day especially when you feel overwhelmed. Luckily on this app there are groups ran by professionals who can help you change what you desire. Check out some of the podcasts and see what resonates with you.
