I’m soon going to be going to my 20 weeks scan where they will ask about giving me my flu and whooping cough vaccine. With my first I only had my whopping cough vaccine and I was very Ill and in so much pain for days. I’ve not had the flu ever and the last time I would have had my vaccine would have been at school when that left me in also a lot of pain and feeling awful for days. I know it’s totally up to you but also they push you a lot and i know last time I said no to the flu I felt like they completely turned into horrible nasty people against me. And even though I said no I still got asked every single appointment until I just said I had had it and then they finally stopped asking. Has anyone managed to say no and actually not got abused by the midwife’s for having that choice?

I honestly highly recommend it. I did get the vaccine and the covid booster and whooping cough. Then over Xmas when I was pregnant I got ill, this wasnt from the vaccine just the wearher and people spreading it as they do. All I could take was paracetamol and it was awful. All I thought to myself was god, imagine if I hadn't had the vaccine I would be so much worse. I recovered and was absolutely fine, as was baby. I can speak as someone who felt really ill when I had some vaccines previously, I would take a few days of illness over actually becoming gravely ill potentially later on. Completely your choice of course and just explain that to the midwives etc but please make sure you're making an informed choice. Wishing you and your pregnancy well x
