Help with sick (no photo)

Does anyone else experience this?

My EBF 3 week old has started spitting up more regularly (little amounts) but three times over the last 5 days he’s also sicked up what looks like the entire contents of his stomach, curdled milk. (sorry for the imagery!) Two times it was about 15mins after the feed when he’d gone from relaxing half reclined on me to being picked up. Today, it was at least half an hour after the feed where I’d kept him upright the whole time. I’d then put him in his bassinet and 10 mins later he was sick.

He doesn’t seem ill. He doesn’t seem uncomfortable when it happens. He HAS started feeding for longer over the past 5ish days. He’s then eager for more afterwards. His nappies and the amount he’s feeding seem right. I burp him until there are no more burps (probably about 5mins each time). Do you think he’s over feeding? Should I take him off the boob when he gets to the sleepy half-hearted sucking at the end?

I just find I’m spending my days feeding, burping, sitting with him upright for ages, and then just waiting all day for spit up, then doing washing and going through so many muslins daily. I’m now nervous to leave him in his bassinet for a nap while I do jobs because he might be sick and choke.

Help!

It just sounds like reflux to me, my LG is the same. Curdled milk occasionally and just liquidy milk that she couldn’t fit in her stomach! Pretty much every feed, no matter if she’s burped or not or how long after a feed it was (she’s a nightmare to burp) Don’t take him off the breast. Let him continue to feed as much as he’d like. If you’re concerned, contact your health visitor or the GP they should weigh baby to make sure he’s on track, and if it’s causing an issue with his weight gain, there is medicines you can try! If you’re practicing safe sleep (laying baby on back to sleep) it’s unlikely he will choke on his spit up, they are smarter than you think and they will spit it to the side, and when you lay baby on their back, the way the two pipes are positioned in their throats spit up shouldn’t make it’s way into his breathing pipe (very technical I know 😂) you’re doing everything right 🤍 you just can’t avoid these things sometimes x

thank you so much, that’s really reassuring. His weight is on track at the moment but I will get it checked end of this week. It’s just disheartening! We’ve just cracked the latch and feeding is a great experience except for that! I guess it’s one of those where I’ve got to remember it’s not forever 🙏 thank you x

that’s great! As long as his weight is on track and he’s still got plenty of wet and dirty nappies, and is fine in himself I wouldn’t get your hair off about it. It’s very common in babies and they grow out of it. But we’re in the thick of it too! Just give me a message whenever you need to :)

I wouldn't worry about it as long as he still has a bunch of wet diapers. My son used to spit up a ton after every feed but he still put on weight and had the right number of wet diapers. He has now grown out of it (started around 3 months) and barely spits up

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
