Transitioning to bottles

I started back at work this week and my OH started paternity leave but were struggling to get the baby to take bottles. I'm working from home so it isn't always a huge problem but I will be going into the office once a week soon. So far we've tried all sorts of things, then I give in and breastfeed him. This won't always be possible though.

We've tried different bottles, teats, locations, positions, breastmilk, formula, temperature, sippy cups. He will only take 1oz or less at a time.

Does anyone have any advice? Or has been through this before? I'd like to know I'm not alone!

I’m starting back work next month and didn’t really want to start my son with a bottle, I brought this cup yesterday and tried him this morning with some milk in it and he drank nearly all of it - https://groceries.asda.com/product/baby-toddler-cups/nuby-sipeez-first-cup-grip-n-sip-4-12-m/910001205957?gbraid=0AAAAAogwkgj5cjSZYGLI9RFUuWHwZ6yW2&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8e741KCWgQMVK1aRBR3erABCEAQYAyABEgLKefD_BwE . I know it’s non spill and they aren’t always recommended but it works for us and my priority is getting him to take milk easily xx

Lansinoh bottle are really good for breastfeed babies, also making sure your baby is definitely hungry before offering the bottle.
My partner use to wear one of my tops that smelt like me and I wouldn’t be in the room when we first introduced a bottle to my little girl and that helped, because as soon as I was in eyesight for her she would want me.

Now she takes a bottle fine when needed, we only introduced it properly a couple months ago and she was EFB for around 4 months x

we tried this cup yesterday. He wasn't a fan at all even though he happily takes water from it. Completely agree that getting milk into him is the priority regardless of how. We'll keep trying!

that's a thought, thank you. I'll give my OH some of my clothes to try. We've got a Lanisoh bottle which has been slightly more successful than others in the past but that's not saying much 😭

I hope it goes well! Perseverance is key 🤞🏼💛

I’m in the same boat. My LO is 19 weeks and hates bottles. I soon need to join back work. I need someone to tell me it gets better 😫

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
