Ok.. I am going crazy!! Please tell me I’m not crazy for feeling this way..
My sister is planning my baby shower for 10/7. She created a Fb event page for it to track people who are coming and post stuff. (Which I did this for my best friend who’s shower was last month.. however I only posted like reminders of how far away the shower was and her registry)
Well she has been posting like 3-4 posts remind people about diapers and the raffle and it’s just a lot… people know to bring diapers to a shower and if they don’t they don’t.
Then last night before bed she posted asking people to bring a freezer meal for after baby. I saw it and was like ummm what?!?? I am not due until 11/27… so that is almost 2 months of freezer meals in my freezer if they did that and I don’t have a huge freezer to begin with where the heck am I putting all of this?! I also need room hopefully for breast milk!
We already have asked people to bring a book instead of a card, diapers, and or course a gift.. asking for much more stresses me out because it makes me feel like I’m greedy and want everything. I’m afraid it’s gonna make people decide not to come to the shower…
I know my sister means wells but holy cow I am about to loose it.

Just be honest with her and talk to her. Tell her you don’t wanna over step with her planning but you feel that she is asking too much and you don’t want people to feel obligated to have to bring something or feel like they’re being asked a lot to bring and may not come. Even remind her that she’s posting so much and that you know she’s excited but she’s coming across as overbearing with the constant posting.

Oh man, I envy you!!! LOLOL. Postpartum is so tough, I wish I had the balls to ask for all that stuff. Or I wish I had someone bold enough to encourage friends to help out in specific ways like that so I didn’t have to. I think people can always say no, but having someone do that, for you seems like a win 🤣🤷🏼♀️ I’m currently texting friends to try to get them to come over and help me cook freezer meals while other family watches my toddler. It’s exhausting. But I know it’ll be worth it when I can’t make any food postpartum. I get feeling like it’s a lot she’s doing….. but also, babies take a village, and someone needs to coordinate that village lol! With my first I would have felt the same, but having gone thru it once, man I’d take that help any day 🙃
