Second hand prep machine

Hi all I have been kindly gifted a Tommy tippee day and night prep machine. I’ve watched videos on how to run a cleaning cycle and prime the filter, but is this going to be enough when using second hand? By the age of kids it was used for previously, it will have been sitting a while and when I lift the lid where the water goes in it’s got a sort of slight smell like mould but I can’t see anything it looks clean. I haven’t ran the cleaning cycle yet, but is there anything else I can do in addition to that? If it doesn’t get rid of the smell I won’t be comfortable using it, and I can’t see the pipes internally so I’m a bit off using it Thanks girlies xx

Ooh I'm not sure but I've also been given one by a friend whose daughter is 4 now so I am interested in the answers!

So I have just ran the cleaning cycle following the online instructions on their website, it’s literally just boiling water flushed through the system… so it still has the same slight smell. I’m now debating whether to make a mixture of Milton solution and run it through followed by a couple of boiling water cycles. Just can’t be arsed with all this faff if I’m still not going to be happy at the end lol 😂 I unscrewed the back off and the bits of the pipes that are visible all look clean no mould 🤷🏻‍♀️

Scrap that, just noticed tiny black bits in part of the pipe, so will see if further cycles will shift it

Success with a Milton tablet dissolved in 1lt of boiling water. It’s completely gone 👍🏼
