Has anyone been induced or asked for an induction?
I'm midwife led, only concerns ever raised were 2 instances of reduced movement, one dilated kidney but at the last scan it was normal and at 34 weeks I was swabbed as positive for pre term labour but I was absolutely fine and have plodded along fine. (they can get false positives I've read but I was getting stomach cramps that's stopped when I slowed down)
Now I'm 36 weeks + 4, 37 weeks on Sunday and I just cannot take it.
I'm in absolute agony this is my first too and I cannot see myself waiting till 1st October and possibly two weeks after that. I was hoping to ask my midwife the possibility of being induced because of the siatica pain and the pelvic girdle pain. They think these pains were what made the pre term labour scare worse because when I got a cramp id stand up and then obviously be in pain from everything else.
Baby is moving loads this week, I'm a tiny gal so I just feel like my body physically can't take anymore weight.
Before this week I was completely against inductions unless absolutely medically necessary. Now I'm desperate ðŸ˜

Don’t do induction the worst experience I ever had. In the end I ended up beginning for for a c section

I have gestational diabetes that's been diet/exercise controlled really well. So I got an induction date for my due date (in 3 weeks) I asked if it could be sooner as I'm also experiencing horrible sciatica pains, legs pain, back pain, uncomfortable Braxton Hicks and horrible horrible horrible lighting crotch. And they said no 😥

You can do it, power through for baby as their lungs are fully developed better for breathing outside of the womb after 39 weeks. This is why c sections and inductions don’t usually take place until after unless absolutely necessary. The end of pregnancy really sucks but it’ll all be worth it soon, just try and take it as easy as possible!
( also speaking from experience of going 2 weeks overdue and still having to be induced with my first i would really advise trying to let your body go into labour naturally it will be better for both of you :) !!)

It’s difficult
My sister was told to go on bed rest and then induced at 39 weeks for the same thing
They don’t like to induce before 38 weeks unless medically necessary
She had the same thing with her 2nd and the only reason they induced her at 37 weeks was due to 3 incidents of high blood pressure within 1 weeks
It’s worth asking though x

I had the exact same experience. I was in agony with pgp and sciatica so I ended up ringing triage at 38 weeks and asking how I can speak to a consultant about a possible induction and they made me an appointment to talk to one. Consultant didn’t have any issues with me wanting one and offered me at 39 weeks x

I only been offered it at 37 to have it done on 38 weeks
