Nap help!

Since about May time it’s been taking my daughter a good hour to fall asleep of an evening. I think I need to tweak something but I don’t know what?!

Her day looks like:
6:30-7am - wake up
12:30-1pm - nap for 1.5 hours absolute tops
7-7:30pm - I put her in her cot and then she falls asleep between 8-8:30pm (which I think is too late?!)

I tried cutting her nap to 1 hour, earlier bedtime, later bedtime (this just resorted her falling asleep about 9pm!) and nothing seems to work.

She’s more than happy in her cot chatting away to herself and then eventually falling asleep. But I feel like she should be falling asleep within about 20 mins not nearly an hour?! Or is this normal and it just takes her forever to fall asleep?!

Any tips at all please?

My little girl is the same.. up between 6:45/7:15, nap roughly 12:30-2:30 and in her cot for 8 but sometimes not asleep until 8:45 x

We are exactly the same . It takes an hour . But now at least she is sleeping though again so I take it 😁

If she doesn’t wake up until around 2.30, 7/7.30 could be quite early? Probably not tired enough If my little one wakes at 2.30 I put him in bed around 8ish to be asleep around 8.15/8.30 x

this is true actually! I might try putting her in bed for 8pm tonight and see how long it takes her to go off. I did try putting her down later a few months ago and it just resorted to her taking an hour to go to sleep still but at a later time so she went off finally about 9ish! 🥲😬 I’ll try tonight and hope for the best 😂🤞🏼x

second that. Sometimes if she goes to bed at around 8 she falls asleep faster then whit a 7:30 bedtime

It’s Worth a try and see how it goes. My little one usually wakes at 2.30 so we do 8 bedtime there’s no way he’d be tired at 7ish but if he has a short nap he goes earlier 😊nothing is simple lol! X

thank you both I’ll try this tonight and keep you posted! She definitely goes a good 6 hours between sleep usually so makes sense for her to be asleep by 8:30pm! Thank you ♥️

how did you get on? X

I think it worked! She asked to go to bed I think the heat has tired her out 😂 put her in bed for 7:45 and she was sound asleep by 8:10 so a vast improvement on taking an hour to go to sleep! Will try again tonight! X

we put mine to bed at 8 last night and she was asleep at 8:20. So it seems to be a good way to go !

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

4 month sleep regression

Does anyone else feel like they’re back in the newborn trenches through the 4 month sleep regression ?? 😭😭 my boy turned 4 months yesterday and the past 3 nights he’s woken up every 20-40 minutes. He does manage to get back off to sleep after I give him his dummy. It’s so strange though because his daytime naps don’t seem to be affected? He has 2 x long naps a day (around 2 hours) and a couple 30-40 minutes here and there and seems fine during them, it’s just his night time sleep! I read it can last for 6 weeks, I pray it doesn’t because I am shattered 🤣🤣

Is this a normal poo?

Apologies for picture included. 1 year old has had a funny tummy since Friday not watery diarrhoea but very explosive and paste like poo and he’s not being eating as much but been drinking his milk and water normally! Today we had this poo though and it seemed a very chalk like consistency and very pale. Just asking for thoughts and advice really. He did also have lots of cream on his bum.
