Is anyone else super bored right now? I'm getting so sick of doing the same activities with my 3 month old son. Any suggestions of what to do? We currently: sing (so much singing), play with cloth, have tummy time, play on his activity mat, go for walks, bounce on the knee, and lift him like an airplane.

I have some crinkly/textured cloth books that my daughter plays with. I put her in the swing and she will play with them by herself for about 20 minutes!

Saaaaame! We have recently started swimming lessons and going to mom group things more

Omg same. Everyday is like the one before that and it’s getting really monotonous. But yes all the above I do as well. The mom groups really keep me sane lol

I would love to go to swim lessons but I feel like his wake windows are so short that by the time we get there and change he will be ready to nap. How do you handle it?

I booked an early lesson so my dude can sleep right until we need to leave the house. My dudes at about an hour and a half of wake window right now so it's pretty much just enough to get him there, do the lesson, change back to regular clothes and then hes down for a nap before we leave the change room.

Is there mom groups around that you can make friends and find things to do together?

@Mimi I feel like I have to spend every moment interacting with him when he is awake. I feel guilty leaving him on his own. I know that it's important that he learns to play by himself. Are there any other toys that your daughter likes to play with by herself?

so is it the first thing you do when waking up? When do you feed?

he usually wakes up around 7 and does a really big feed then sleeps for another 2 hours then we swim and he feeds again after.

thanks! I'll see if we can work something similar into our routine

I totally understand that feeling! It's so hard. I have a play gym and she can amuse herself for a little while if she's in the right mood by looking at & grabbing at/touching the different parts that hang off the top. Mine has spots to attach pictures at the top too and she likes looking at them (mostly black and white pictures).

ooo I like the idea of the pictures on the top. I might tape some up

We go to the library and take out lots of board books. I find he prefers books with real photos of animals and faces rather than illustrations. We usually 'read' them during tummy time. We also do lots of stuff in front of the mirror. I bought a cheap Ikea mirror and have it propped up length wise on the floor and he loves to do tummy time looking at himself in it. I was hoping he would also enjoy looking at himself in it while on his back but so far he hasn't figured it out.
