Formula recommendations

My LO is 2 months old today and we started off with Similac when we first got home from the hospital than she began being colicky so we switched the Enfamil Gentlease. It helped for awhile but recently she’s been spitting up a lot like chunks. Called the pediatrician and she suggested to change to Enfamil A.R but she’s still spitting up a lot.
*I still breastfeed but don’t produce enough. She doesn’t spit up with the breast milk so I feel bad😭
Any suggestions?

Not sure if you do this but what we do is mix breastmilk with the formula. Formula can be hard on the tummy so we mix 2 oz formula with 1 oz breastmilk and it has helped with the spit up. We also use gas drops and that's helped.

I have mixed it and haven’t seen a difference, unfortunately. Do you do the gas drops before every feeding ?

Avatar

@Brittney yes. We just make sure to not go over the max dosing in a day which I think is like 12 for the one we have.

I suggest looking into European brands. The US formulas have alot of crap in them. We use HIPP. It’s more money but worth knowing it’s good for her. They make a specific one for reflux issues.

I second what Ashley said, I started my LO on Similac and spit up was so nasty and so much, I have him on Bobbie and it’s been great, it’s European modeled, you can find it at Target or subscribe on the website

I’ll definitely look into this !

when you switched how did you transition?

My baby is on Nutramigen. It’s expensive but has helped a lot.

you can just switch them. It’s actually not a big deal. I was thinking you had to do it gradually or something like that but you can just switch it out and Bobby is a good choice as well!

Avatar

i just switched it. The spit up was so gross that I didn’t think it was going to get worst. I was also thinking you had to gradually do it but I didn’t and he was fine! I hope you find something that works for you and your LO❤️

Breastfeeding

I’m 4 days postpartum and up to now we have been bottle feeding. I think I have decided I want to try breastfeeding. My boobs have gone hard today and I think my milk has come in. Is it to late to try

Please

Please please please tell me I'm not the a-hole here or I'm not overreacting because I would have to take accountability and responsibility for my words and apologize. So a little backstory yesterday I did the overnight for our 4-month son. He's going through sleep regression. He was up every hour on the hour and I got maybe 2 hours of sleep. He got to sleep the whole night through. He didn't work yesterday and said he wasn't feeling good. Which okay. But I managed to get all the laundry folded and put away and go grocery shopping and make dinner. That's 2 hours of sleep I had to adult on. Now today he did the overnights last night and my son slept longer. We have my two daughters from her previous marriage. I am not only doing laundry. I'm doing dishes. I'm making lunch for them and I'm also trying to take care of my 4-month-old. He comes in and says he's tired now. I told him to do the laundry because I can't always get to the laundry room because I live in an apartment and the laundry room is on the other side of the building. He left a basket of clothes that were still damp and he came in and said I'm tired and I don't feel good. He's highly allergic to cats and we have three and on top of that he smokes and he has horrible allergies so his sinuses are probably pissed off. Am I wrong for being angry? I don't get to have a day off even when I'm tired. He does right now. He's sleeping because my son is sleeping. WTF 😒😒😒

To shave or not to shave

What is everyone planning or done in the past when it comes to shaving downstairs for labour and delivery. And if it’s not shaven when waters have broken has anyone stopped to shave or planning on doing it. Just wondering…

You just buckled your kid into the car seat after they fought and cried and made it take several minutes longer than normal. You get in the drivers seat and go to open your gps to realize you left your phone in the house. What do?

Is your answer different if it’s a house versus apartment?
