Breastfeeding

I’m 4 days postpartum and up to now we have been bottle feeding. I think I have decided I want to try breastfeeding. My boobs have gone hard today and I think my milk has come in. Is it to late to try

No it’s not too late. It can take 8-12 weeks to regulate your milk

It takes a while for Mille to come in. If they are hard you can try to manually express some colostrum for your baby to alleviate

Maybe find a lactation consultant or try and latch your baby

I do warn you that I would probably try and manually express/ pump out some milk first as once baby starts to latch you can have a significant let down of milk too

Breastfeeding support worker here 😊 Not too late at all!!! If you want to give it a go then definitely try and see how you feel! If you don't like it or want to stop then that's fine too.

Since you have been bottle feeding, baby may find it a little difficult at first to latch and transfer milk, I would suggest you find a breastfeeding support group in your area to support you.

It is definitely worth trying to hand express or pump also x

Asking grandparents to watch baby overnight

So I already feel guilty for even asking my MIL to have my baby (15months) overnight but I am at my breaking point, I am so exhausted as he wakes up every morning between 4.30am-5am and won’t go back to sleep until 9am and then he will have an hour before he’s up for the day. I’m home alone with him 90% of the time. I just need one night to catch up on sleep and to try and few human again but the thought of leaving him overnight is giving me some anxiety and the guilt of even asking someone to watch him is eating my alive. Any advice?

Great grandma kissed my babies face

My girl is 5 weeks, we spent over 2 weeks in the NICU and I am very germ conscious because of everything, she had sepsis and needed resuscitation at birth so I’m very overprotective. We took my girl to see her great grandma and she kissed her on the face, like on the lips, I am now absolutely freaking out that my daughter will now get seriously ill, we’ve seen several members of the family and this hasn’t happened yet, but now she’s been kissed and I haven’t even kissed her face because of the germs. Its my partners grandma so I didn’t feel like I could say anything at the time, which I now regret but it was all so fast and made me so uncomfortable. I am like very stressed now, any advise on how to stop it happening again and anything that can be said that will stop me having a panic attack over the next few days worrying she will get sick?!

Do you hit your husband?

Like a smack on the back of his head or back
Or straight up hitting him and beating on him
Or not at all

Baby will not sleep or settle

My baby is three weeks old and originally he was settling well. But the last few days have been absolute hell. I'm an SMBC so no partner or support network, it's just me and him. Last night he screamed all night, white noise didn't soothe him having given me a few hour's respite in the afternoon to wash my hair for the first time in a month (yes, really!). Eventually he fell asleep for a few hours on my chest but was agitated when I put him back in his cot. I tried everything last night but all he did was scream. I hate him being so distressed and nothing seems to work. He's exclusively breastfed so I need to take time to eat myself to protect the milk supply. Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Recommendations!

Hi! So this is my 18 month old’s hair. It’s often frizzy and I honestly don’t know what products to get or how to encourage those natural curls. My hair is completely straight so I haven’t got a clue. Please help. Her hair isn’t knotty at all though surprisingly

Crawling

Hello 👋🏻 My baby is 6 months and 1 week old and basically started crawling overnight. It started two nights ago while he was on my bed and he’s now full on crawling and FAST. It’s like a little army crawl, but he definitely gets from point A to B. He’s already getting into everything but what should I expect? I know I need to baby proof but I thought I would have more time😩 Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
