Hi so my baby still drinks out of bottles. He’ll be 10 months end of this month and I’m trying to see how to ween him off of bottles and maybe take more of a sippy cup type one?? How old do babies usually learn to use them or suck from straws? I’m a FTM so this is all new to me. Thanks!

I still feed my baby through bottles, I haven’t even realized that I should probably transition him yet 😭😂 he does really good holding it but doesn’t always know how to tip it enough to actually get some lol. I have the dr brown bottles that came with the little silicone handle that you can add on the bottle and the sippy cup type nipple so I’ll probably start trying to use that more often. He does really good with straws because I’ve always given him water when eating solids and use a silicone cup with a straw. The best way to teach them is by you holding a straw with a drink in it and cover the top part to hold the liquid in it, and don’t realize the liquid until they start sucking on it. Just do that the first few times and then they start getting the hang of it

Don’t release **

I just put water in a sippy cup and put it in the area he plays and offer it when he eats, if he hasn't used the one I had out, I tried a different cup. My baby is 9 month and just started using it, drank about 4 ish oz of it today

I use the same cups as Christina . I just put puree on the tip and after a couple tries she was drinking

We use the same cups above too. Baby girl loves them better than the typical sippy cup but she will drink from either.
