Vertigo/BPPV

Hi has anyone ever experienced vertigo or BBPV in their third trimester? I’m 39 weeks + 1 and had BPPV for 9 days. It has been easing but I’ve got my elected c section next week and really anxious I still have this when baby arrives. I’ve been to the GP who performed the Epley manouvre and told me it will go away on its own but I’m getting really frustrated having tried everything to get rid of it 😫

Hi, this is quite a niche area. The Epleys manoeuvre treats one lot of your ear canals. It may be that it is another canal and the manoeuvre for that is called a BBQ roll (strange name I know 😅)
https://youtube.com/watch?v=6zsfIa_Z8_k&si=9Y4SzFa5NXACrTZs shows it. It is similar to the epleys but a bit different. After any of the manoeuvres try to keep your head still like you have a neck brace on for 20 minutes and avoid things like swimming for 24 hours. Your left or right or both sides might be affected, so it may take a few different ones before you find which helps the BPPV. Initially the treatment can make symptoms feel worse but they should settle down over a day or so. With being pregnant this may be a bit tricky so check with your Dr or ask if you can be seen by a Physiotherapist who is trained in this area.

Thank you for that- Yes we’ve tried both sides and it does ease it and it comes and goes throughout the day. Feel like I’m having a good day then a bad day. It’s so frustrating x

It is so unpleasant when you get symptoms. It is fixable but sometimes takes time. Pure speculation but I wonder if anything pregnancy related may be feeding into it. Any inflammation in those canals could bring on the symptoms

the GP did mention it could be hormonal changes - so I’m hoping it is and once baby is here it disappears 🤞🏼🙏🏼 have you had it before?

No, but where I work we have people who have had it and its really not nice!

yeah I’ve never experienced anything like it before! It’s awful and stops you doing most daily things!

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.
