I have a friend who just had a planned c-section and wondering if anyone has any suggestions of what I could give to her to support her recovery? So far all I have is bio oil for scar massage but want to make up a basket of items. What did you/would you have like to receive after your c-section

Sounds odd but a litter picker was amazing, so I could pick items I'd dropped on the floor without bending 😂 some ladies also like a belly band. For me I wanted frida mom pants and chocolate haha

Chocolate is always appreciated

I just had C-section last week, and has been wearing a belly band since day 2 of the surgery. Your friend would also really appreciate Postmatr/Doordash gift cards, no one wants to cook after the surgery.

Legit any food made or delivered would’ve made my day

Doordash gift card to avoid having to cook 🥺 or a homemade dinner
Definitely my favorite recovery gifts

Honestly I didn’t need any of that mobility stuff, just some company and not having to cook.
Maybe an ubereats gift card so they can have a few nice takeaways?

This is such a lovely thoughtful idea 💕

My aunt sent me a String of Pearls plant in the mail and it was the most heartfelt thing I have ever received honestly. She knew I loved them, and said, I know everyone is giving to the baby, I just wanted to get something little for you. I love that plant lol, and every day I look at it and think of her 🫶🏻

Not just for c section mamas but someone gave a lovely handwash and hand lotion… all the nappy changing makes your hands so dry from all the washing so it was much appreciated x

Takeaway vouchers!🐷
Snacks/food! 🐷
I didn't need anything "extra" after my c section.
I do like sanctuary spa smellies as a treat tho 🤷♀️

A little care package filled with things she may need so she doesn’t have to get up too much. Definitely snacks and maybe things she can use while baby is sleeping like sheet face masks, hand lotions, anything that will help her be comfortable, maybe some cosy new pyjamas. Everyone always buys for babies so it’s nice to do something directly for the mum, I didn’t really get anything for me, it was all for baby

Joining in to say snacks as well.
Looking after myself in the first few days post-op was hard, anything super quick/instant to eat is really helpful. If you're able to take up some meals for the friend to reheat or freeze I'm sure that would be a big help.
Anything that might make her feel a bit more "normal" could be good too. For example if she is the type to go get a coffee from Starbucks every day, you could bring her one. My friend brought me a piece of cake and other treats from my favourite bakery, which I couldn't get to on my own.

Night gowns

which belly band did you go for? I’m looking at the Frida one but not sure!

I got this one from Amazon, Postpartum Girdle C-Section Recovery Belt Back Support Belly Wrap Belly Band Shapewear https://a.co/d/6rIcnUw

Thank you!!!!

Definitely take away vouchers or making your own home cooked meals will Definitely be appreciated! Or a Hamper full of bits and pieces for mama and baby x

Food would be what I would go with! Either a basket of snacks or her favorite takeout!

Snacks definitely! Also new pyjamas and some fluffy socks so she can feel comfy (maternity or high waisted ones are best as they don’t sit on the scar line) Even simple things like paracetamol and ibuprofen I ran out of these a few times or a hot water bottle helped me with my pains too xx

I got some super comfy loungewear off some friends and it was amazing! Along with other bits but also really rated the Badedas bubble bath!

Pjs and help wash her hair haha that was all I wanted 🤣🤣🩵🩵

A cousin dropped off sausage rolls and doughnuts from greggs on our doorstep one lunchtime and it was my favourite gift because we there was no wanting to cuddle the baby just a cute gift to say thinking of you x
