Hi everyone. I've recently started BLW about a week earlier than turning 6 months.
He seems to be okay picking things up and bringing them to his mouth, however, seems to panic when he gets a bit off and gags a lot (I know this is normal) but he actually threw up a little when gagging this evening. He doesn't seem to want to swallow the food at all? Purees go down well so I've been doing a mix so he starts to get used to flavours but he just doesn't seem that bothered by whole foods. (Other than mango, he loved mango but that's super super soft so he just gummed it)
Any advise??? I've been doing a mix of foods, veg, fruit, I've even tried him on some beef and potatoes.

Mine is the same but I think with BLW it doesn't matter if they don't get much in their tummy at first, it's more about them getting used to the flavour and texture by 'gumming' and sucking bits of food- I hope that's right but its how I understood it š I think they'll work it out after a few weeks

Yes agree with Emily I think for first few weeks just exploration and getting the hang of it especially with BLW :)

This is really normal and heās doing amazing for trying it & spitting it out. Their gag reflex is a lot further up than ours at that age so heās just got to get used to it.
Weāve been doing it for 2 weeks and my little one has only actually swallowed yoghurt/ puree xx

Gradually increase the texture of purƩes to help get used to lumps. xx

Thanks everyone xx

Weird question, I have this high chair and with the back cushion in, Iām really struggling to get her out of it? Any tips? š I get scared in case she starts choking and I have to get her out quickly!
