Hi! So I’m a first time mom to a baby girl. My husband and I are both registered nurses and both of us work full time (except I’m on maternity leave right now). My husband suggested or rather gave me a choice if I wanted to be a SAHM or just work part time. I told him I don’t know how I feel about it since I’ve worked full time all my life. But maybe once we have a second baby I’ll consider these options.. my questions: how do you manage being a SAHM? Income-wise, do you get allowances from your spouse? I could not imagine having no income at all or even having to depend on my husband financially but then again I don’t know how this thing works and I’d like to prepare myself for this while I’m weighing my options. I’d like some feedback please :) thank you, mamas!

For my husband and I he just buys me whatever I ask for or need. I don’t ask for a lot but he never says no. Thankfully he’s making more money now then when we both had jobs so it works really well for us. He pays my car payment and all the bills I use to pay and never complains. Since your use to paying your own way I would definitely ask for some spending money that is in your guys budget if you stay home. My biggest advice is watch out for resentment from ether one of you since money can change some relationships. My husband says it’s our money and loves that I’m able to take such great care of our daughter everyday.
