I told my doctor about it. she gave me meds for it but I don’t want to take them. I’m scared it’ll get worse.

Thank you I will message you

I had PPD/PPA and it peaked around 6-8wk pp. I went in and saw my OB and she prescribed me Zoloft. I was able to wean off of it after a couple months as I felt better. But it really helped me when my post partum was the worst. Meds aren’t for everyone but it definitely helped me be a better version of myself for my baby.

@Elizabeth that's how I feel too. What doesn't help is that I've had depression since I was 8 and didn't get treatment for it until recently. Although I've been very forgetful on taking the medication from having to take care of my little bean. My mother in law has been helping me with her so it helps with the anxiety in a way.

@Elizabeth are you speaking from personal experience? Because for me the meds really helped, I was not more out of it, I was able to engage with and enjoy my son so much more than in the first 6 months of his life. I didn't becone dependent on them, and after around 18 months I weaned myself off and haven't taken them in 4 months. Taking them helped me, and they may well help OP. Equally they may not

if you don’t want to take the meds to help you then please find another way. I was the same I hated the meds but for the sake of my family I knew I had to do something. Counseling helped tremendously and I found a Facebook group of moms going through the same thing and chatting with them also helped so much!!!!

I’m just scared I’m going to have to depend on the meds… im trying my best to over come thjs

so I started to get depressed when my baby was born just 2 weeks ago… I changed my diet and started walking outside everyday in the sun and I literally felt better within 2 days!!!
