Is the boppy pillow considered a baby container?
My husband is deployed and i have to get things done. Since the newborn sleep faze is going away for me my 3 month old is becoming a bit hard to entertain between naps as well. Don’t wanna hurt her hips in too much swing or bouncer time and she only lasts in floor time for a couple mins. She also hates when i wear her unless she’s facing outward which she’s too young for i read. Any tips ?

I personally wouldn’t. I’d lay either on a play mat on the floor and let her look around and roll if she is doing that, or put her in a pack n play. If she’s not sitting up on her own already, I wouldn’t use that to prop her up in, because even in just a few minutes out of sight, she can fall over and not be able to get up, and possibly suffocate herself. I don’t want to scare you, but it’s just a possibility.

she won’t sit in floor time, and mostly I’m sitting next to her just doing school work. I never would leave the room i watch her like a hawk. I’m more worried about extended times in the boppy or swings and bouncer because of her hips. Because they always say baby containers only 15 minutes twice a day!! I appreciate the worry and the reminder of how things can go wrong fast!

she can hold her head up great i wish i could face her outward in the carrier bc she likes facing the world:( but i think it’s bad for her hips! Idk am i being too paranoid about the hip thing? My mom said she’d leave in it way longer and the internet is toxic but i want what’s best for her!

I’ve never heard about the hip thing with a bouncer or a swing. I’ll have to look into that. Ask your pediatrician what they think about it. I know for a fact, my mom utilized all the baby containers for her kids 😅

so I looked it up, some things say prolonged use can cause hip dysplasia, other sites say there’s no scientific evidence of that. I do know that with my oldest son, who is two now, I sat him in his bouncer (play center thing) from four or five months, and then his walker at around a year old…and he’s completely fine. I did hold my first a lot, but sometimes you also just gotta set baby down and get stuff done around the house. He loved being in there and jumped so much.

i guess if i just make sure she has free movement during the day and do some light stretches with her and i watch to see signs of it effecting her. No parent is perfect🤷🏼♀️ i just always worry I’ll mess her up🤦🏼♀️

I totally understand. You’re a great mom to be concerned. She will be ok if it’s only for a little bit a day. I’d say an hour at a time is fine. BUT, that is just what I’d do. I’m not a health professional lol

of course i wouldn’t hold u to it!!!! Just needed some input❤️😂

I would use a bouncer and swing and have only been told to be careful because of positional asphyxiation. The hip dysplasia risk is more from walkers, jumpers, etc, that put pressure on the hip joints. I have no expertise in this, though. This is just what I've been told.

I just started putting my baby in the skip hop sit me up! Definitely get one of those!

3 months!

You can put your baby in a bouncer, it won’t affect the hips. It’s mostly jumperoo, little seats or carriers if they are not appropriate.
I put my baby in her bouncer when I have stuff to do and when she is tired of it I switch to floor playmat with a soft book on the top, her little piano, mirrors etc
