My partner gets a full night sleep every night. Works shifts every other week 6am-2pm one week 2pm-10pm the next, he gets a lie in until at least 10am when on lates.
I get up with LB every day between 7&8am and put him to bed, and do the occasional dream feed & he always wakes for a feed between 3-5am.
Our agreement was I get a lie in on Sundays (I have to wake my partner up, I still get up, change LB’s nappy and make my partner a hot drink. My partner also wakes me if LB does a poo as he can’t change it - will gag and nearly sick)
I had a lie in until 10am yesterday as my partner was off Thurs&Fri, LB had his jabs Thurs and was up every hour Thurs night. I said he can have a lie in next Sat. My partner now wants me up today and “joked” that he gets 2 lie ins next weekend as he’s on the early shift this week…
Every Sunday morning is a battle with him. I don’t get an actual break as I still get up and also get disturbed when LB poos, but he doesn’t see that and says I’m “moaning”. It always seems to be MY fault. He even said to me on Friday “you used to be fun” … I’m sorry but I’m running on empty majority of the time, I’ve got no energy for fun, it all goes on baby!

Omg that's awful!!!! And unfair. That needs to changed. he should be taking baby more often! Fu*k his lye ins, you need to get your night sleep before he should be getting extra. Why are you making him a hot drink? He should be helping you. Your making it too easy for him so he won't want to change. Read a book called boundaries. I think it will help you. Hope you get some help from him soon, it's exhausting. I don't know how your coping x

Men don't like changing there own kids ass, mines the same xx

And if he was working more I'd understand but that's not long hours really xx

I’m sorry but gagging at your baby’s poo is ridiculous. He needs to have a serious word with himself. Men are so dramatic! Totally understand your frustrations. I’ve been told I used to be fun too🤣 it’s like a 24 hour job so a lay in or two a week is the least you deserve. You are not alone & are absolutely smashing it xx
Literally! Drives me insane he just doesn’t understand. Says he appreciates me but i don’t see it or feel it at all! 🙃🙈

I’m the same! With the exception of the poo. I’ve had 2 lie ins since possibly start of June? As struggled when pregnant & do most of night feeds/getting up with her. He said last night he would get up with her. I had to wake him up as didn’t hear her, then he left her crying in bed to get a bottle, he then fed her next to me with a cocky ‘are you going back to sleep then or’ then he puts her next to me and says he’s going to his sisters😂 didn’t change her bum & he knows she won’t nap till gone 12 now! MEN! They are just built different

Lol men don't know they're born! I haven't had one lie in since 30th May unless my LG has been asleep, my partner is tired from her takes naps to deal with it when he's off so I feel your pain! He likes us in when he gets home from work holds her for 15mins tops then gives her back to chill out, if I pop to the shop for milk or to walk the dogs I'm likely to get a call to come home within 25 mins as she needs me but will happily nap on my mum for 2 hours. I've taken to just slinging her and taking one dog out as she's no bother just needs a bit of entertaining

It’s relieving to see that all men are the same 😂😂
It’s horrible to say but all of your comments make me feel better, I’m not the only one suffering 😂 tiktok and other platforms of mums with these “amazing” dads that let them lie in or share the night feeds isn’t real surely?! I couldn’t leave my LB for a night with him cos he literally snores through the whole process of the night feeds- even if my LB gets loud! He tries to say I wake him sometimes and I’m like oh you can snore while awake now can you? 😂🙃 my partner is the same. I understood at the beginning, transitioning to being a parent AND working. But our boy is 3 months old and he just says “well you’re used to it”… that doesn’t make it any less tiring does it!!!

I'm not saying I don't love him and he's not good with her and will give her cuddles and spent time with her but he's never done a night feed and when she's been unsettled and screaming on the odd occasion at night for hours, his input is god can't you make her stop, where are my ear plugs! After taking a weeks holiday he has seen how hard it can be and admitted he couldn't look after her like I do and what an amazing job I do not like the skiving at home on a jolly like first though 🤣
yes 100% the same. I’m not saying he’s not a great dad, but it is what it is. He’s unsure on how to settle him properly but I’ve read that it’s normal for baby not to settle well with dad until about 9 months, no matter how strong the bond is!
My partner is oblivious to it still I feel like, he doesn’t realise the extent of it!

Yeah I know, somedays I do want to just scream notably when he's playing PlayStation all the time, I'm cooking dinner and the babies next to him on the playmat as I've set her up to entertain herself and she gets unsettled he will shout me to come sort her. I do tell him to pick her up, if I get a stupid comment like oh I'll just die shall I or I'm having me time. I occasionally loose my temper and snap back and tell him truths like I don't get me time and I often don't get to pee on my own, thankfully she is pretty easy going!

Sorry but it would be a major ick if my husband couldn't change his own baby's nappy 🤦♀️ I used to gag at EVERYTHING before having a baby but have not gagged at a single nappy (and we have had some absolute nightmares) 😅 it's different when it's your own baby.
I'm really sorry you aren't getting more support x
yep, or I have to tell him to sort him out as it’s as if he’s deaf to his winging sometimes?! We could go on forever 😣🙃
he even called his mum the one time he was alone and he pooped. But he had to do it because his mum was working ha!

What on earth, not changing his owns nappy? He needs to get a grip I think and grow up 😂 how ridiculous! I'd be fuming!

I've been doing all the feeding, all the nappy changes, all the settling, all the bathing, all the washing and all the bottle making and bottle cleaning on my own. My boyfriend says his medication makes him sleepy at night time.... I moved back in with a family member because I'd rather do it on my own at a family house than at the boyfriends. He wants me up staying but doesn't want to do anything because it's all 'the mothers job'. All I can say is its good I have quite a content baby or I'd end up depressed getting no help at all apart from my sister but I don't like to ask her much because she has her own child.
