My next appointment is coming up, and it's an ultrasound. I was wondering if I asked them if they could check the gender if they would be able to?
And for my second question, so I've never actually been chubby. So is it normal to show this early? Or is it possible that I'm further along than they think?
Here's the bump.

Hi only can answer first question, yes there is are blood test usually most women gets done from 12 weeks for genetic chromosomal abnormalities, called Harmony test that also have option to find gender that early with blood test, check with your doctor 😊

I already did that blood test! Is it too late to ask them?😭

The NIPT test can detect your baby’s sex and can be done after 9 weeks

even if it is too late you can buy peekaboo or sneak peak, it’s blood testing and check online if your local lab centers do any :)

If you already did the test then it should be in the results !

They won’t tell you the gender at an ultrasound at the hospital until your 20 week anatomy scan and even then it will depend if they can see the baby’s genitals as the 20 weeks scan is to check the baby’s anatomy, organs etc and isn’t used as a ‘gender scan’. If not you can always book a private gender scan where they will be able to tell you the gender from 16 weeks but not any earlier.
Also - don’t compare your bump to anyone else based on how many weeks you are as every pregnancy/bump size is different x

In your first trimester it is not typically "showing" but more likely to be bloating from an increase in water and a change in hormones.

You can pay for a private ultrasound at 16 weeks

For the 2nd question yes it’s totally normal. People show at different rates

You can get the NIPT at 12 weeks which checks baby’s chromosomes XX or xy and checks chromosomes 13,18,21
