Anyone due for an induction at pinderfields or had one recently? I was due to go in today but was told due to staffing they're closing the induction ward. Does anyone know how long the delay can usually be?

I was down for one for Friday, got delayed to today. They called me at 8am this morning, I had examination done and I don’t need to the balloon as I’m over 2cm dilated so can go straight to my waters breaking but there’s a delay on labour ward. I had the option to stay in but I’ve come home to wait for the call as people were waiting 4/5 days on induction ward to go to labour ward for waters breaking. It looked pretty busy and even some babies on there so not sure if they are using it for people who have just given birth also! How far are you x

Not to put an instant negative vibe on your post or experience but don’t hold your breath, I went in a day after I was supposed to, then I spent 5 days on the induction bay waiting for a bed on the Labour ward to break my waters. I was supposed to have my baby at 39 weeks and I had her the day before her due date. Hope you have a more positive experience but the staffing issues are what are causing these delays. Don’t get me wrong the staff are lovely but the delays and waiting and lack of information they give you, honestly in my opinion, ruins the whole experience xx

I had one 6 weeks ago - was due to go in on the Saturday but no beds, was taken on the Monday and induction started but wasn’t then taken to Labour ward until the Saturday. From start to finish, baby was born 8 days after I should’ve initially been induced. My best advice would be just take each day as it comes and try not to think too far ahead x

When I was in they were shipping people off to Bradford and Barnsley because they didn’t have the space for anyone anywhere.
They were moving us off the normal ward, to wait in the corridor for a bed whilst they moved the person (with their baby) from Labour ward into normal ward, then the person from induction into their Labour room, then we would be moved into that bed.
I was there a week and it never improved.

My induction was in January. Was due to be induced at 37 weeks but wasn't induced until 37+3, wasn't an issue. It's easy to get stressed out and impatient but just go with the flow. If you ring up everyday around 10am you should have a clear idea on whether it's likely you'll be called in. Good luck 🩷

Got induced in June, told I needed to be induced on the Tuesday and to wait for a call, called Wednesday evening to go straight in, balloon fitted and worked, waters broken very early Friday morning and baby delivered in the afternoon, a great experience :)

I'm 37 weeks today, so still some time but I have had severe SPD with separation of my pubis for the last few months to the point I'm on crutches and struggling to dress myself amongst other things. I was advised to stop taking the dihydrocodeine a week ago in preparation for the induction to prevent baby coming out in withdrawal so just really struggling at the minute. Tbh I was expecting a week or so not as bad as I was expecting. Ah hope you aren't waiting too long for the call! x

I’ve been on induction bay since Wednesday after being told I would be induced last Monday (at 40 weeks).
I’ve been ready to have my waters broken since Saturday but there are not enough beds/midwives on labour for me to go through. They’ve also looked at transferring me elsewhere but every hospital even as far as Harrogate, York, Scarborough, etc all in the same position. LGI and St James’s are also diverting women. Only way I can get into labour ward quickly now is if my waters go naturally.

did they call to invite you in for the monitoring and sweep?

no haven’t heard anything still x

I've just had a call saying they're managing to catch up and I'm one of the next to be called in so could get a call anytime 🤞

I’ve asked to speak to the doctor as I’m now 41 weeks today and they originally wanted to bring her at 39 weeks so way overdue. Doctor still hasn’t been, it’s like this most days here, lots of waiting around. I do know that all 8 beds in induction are full at the moment but some women’s waters have spontaneously gone so they’re trying to move them through to labour ward x

Any luck 👶🏼
