Mom car?

Anyone have a “mom” car they own and love OR one that they wish they could have? We desperately need to find a new vehicle w baby #2 on the way and I cannot make up my mind on what I want.

Range rover vogue, an older shape because I couldn't afford the newer ones but I LOVE it

Thank you all sooooo much!! I’m loving your responses and it’s giving me a lot to consider!
So far I’m sold on a kia sorento or a chevy traverse. Going to check out toyota now.

We had a Kia sorento that I was obsessed with but we traded it in for a Tesla bc gas was like $400 a month 😭

I have the Mazda CX-9 and absolutely love it! Tons of space with great mileage and safety features! I’m looking to upgrade to the newest version of it since mine is a 2012. I’ve always been a Chevy gal but after this Mazda I will never go back!

Chevy Trailblazer extended. The 3 rows are perfecttttt. I have a 6 year old, a 7 year old and I’m currently expecting. I have a German shepherd as well. Great mom car and everyone thinks I’m a cop so they drive safe around me lol. Also enough room for me to still feel close to my kids without them being RIGHT THERE. I can put them in the third row if I’m needing space. 2 booster seats and a car seat and still have room for more. Before this I had a Ford Flex that I loved as well. All the same features. Hope this helps!

The newest trailblazer is the 2009. The Chevy traverse is the “new trailblazer “ but more car like- if you’re wanting a newer vehicle with more features.

we had a Kia Sorento as a rental one time and my husband really liked it. It’s a possible option when he needs a new car!

I have a VW Tiguan and I love it (no kids yet, so no option on hauling kids)

Avatar

what year was your kia and how often did you drive? Also the distance? Curious bc I stay home but we drive an hour to see family quite often

it was a 2022 and my husband drove ~60 miles a day to get to work with like less than 10 miles in town for me to get around to like stores. It did well when we drove from California to Utah with all the stuff, 3 adults and the infant :)

I am a new mom and I know nothing about cars, but we just got a Ford Flex and I really like it!

I’m obsessed with my Toyota Highlander! It’s older but runs like new and is so reliable, plus ridiculously spacious and gets good gas mileage for its size.

Avatar

I just got a Dodge Durango and I'm in love with it. 3rd row seating and stow and go seats

Avatar

we were thinking that but the trunk w the 3rd row up was uh…. Not our fave. However that’s for a 22-23 model so yours may be the absolute bees knees!!

Avatar

we then started thinking about the grand highlander!

I really liked/wanted the Suburu Ascent - my husband doesn’t like the maintenance that comes with the newer cars and their expensive parts. Soooo… I drive an ‘06 grand caravan.

We’re planning on getting a “mom” car next year and I’m looking at the Toyota RAV4 or Corolla Cross. I haven’t test drive them yet but I hear great things about Toyotas.

If you’re looking to get a newer low mileage used car

Has some pretty good options.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
