Mad moods

I’m nearly 34weeks and am having the biggest mood swings. Worse than earlier in pregnancy. How do I try calm my brain and stop having meltdowns please. It’s exhausting and causing issues between my partner and I. Not being able to sleep is making it worse but so uncomfortable all the time now.

I feel the same ... I can sob for like no reason at the minute 🫠

You are not alone, most of us feel the same. Sometimes i am angry at everyone without no reason just because they are feeling well and can do whatever they want while i am stuck here tired without enough sleep.

I’ve been having this too. I feel ok most of the time but occasionally will get really irrationally upset over the smallest thing - I’m 36 weeks and this morning I cried my eyes out for a good half an hour because I wanted to change the living room furniture around to create a bit more space for when baby comes and my partner said we didnt have time to do it today as we were going out soon. And a few weeks ago I sobbed like someone had died because I knocked a vase over and it broke.
I try to take myself away to be on my own for a few minutes, practice some of the breathing exercises I’m learning on my hypnobirtbing course and really try to calm my mind down and think logically about what it is I’m crying over. It doesn’t always work I’ll be honest, sometimes I’m just in a bad mood and even though I know I’m being irrational I struggle to snap out of it and I just accept that and try not to bite anyone’s head off until it passes 🤣 Hormones hey?

😅🤣 so irrational yet totally relateable! How dare they not feel poorly n smile about it??!

yeah moods bring issues with the close and beloved ones because they are usually an overeaction or have no cause. Just try to apologise and avoid scenarios you know will trigger you for no reason. I also tried to explain afterwards that I know am being unreasonable and I also don't know how to help it. My husband started avoiding speaking to me when he could see I was on one - it helped bcz he would say nothing as I was ranting, I'd realise am being the beast but was not always able to stop myself unfortunately gaaah! 😵🥴

I would say just cry it out. When you cry you release good hormones. Better than bottling it up. X

Thank you all. Does help knowing it’s not just me out of control lol 😂 I do try take space to try stop myself snapping at other half but then get accused of ignoring him. Cannot win. We do talk about it after which helps them then when it happens again he doesn’t then think back to the conversation about it last time.

Rock to Sleep? Or Cry to sleep?

not too long ago, my fiancé allowed our baby to cry himself to sleep because our son was tired. I entirely oppose to this way of nurture I despise it. There’s no way that these tiny creatures who were born with no coping abilities are somehow going to go to sleep with no comfort, I find it absolutely neglectful. I wanna share this topic asking for a mothers opinion as well how do you feel about the “cry it out” method does it work? Does it not? What’s your thoughts on it?

Cleaning girls privates

My baby is 3 months old, I noticed she was red in between her lady parts. Which would make sense as to why she didn’t want to be sat and kept straightening up her body ☹️ I cleaned with warm water and sudocream.

Mammas with girls, what’s the best wipes? Or do you just use warm water and a cotton pad? How do I keep her little area red free? Does she need a bigger size nappy also? Any advice welcome!

Co-sleeping and a glass of wine?

So this post I know might be a one where you will judge me, but hey I am only human.

I haven’t had any alcohol since before I was pregnant. I’m co- sleeping my 9 month old and I am quite anxious to put her in any risk.

The weather is so nice and I really fancy a nice cold glass white wine on the terrace.

I know the advice is not to drink anything and co - sleep. But my baby is good at letting me know when she is unhappy.

But what is your thoughts?

Sex

Has anyone else not done the deed after giving birth yet?

I am 13 weekspp and feeling guilty for not spending 'quality' time with my partner. He's been very supportive and that it's just I feel so tired at the end of the day I just don't have anything left in me.

We also have a 3 year old and I do the housework and I also exclusively pump so any free time I have gets taken up. My 13 weeks old girl doesn't like being held by anyone else apart from me or my partner so handing them off for a few hours wouldn't work she also contact naps during the day which is fine as she sleeps through the night in her cot. Once they go to sleep I'm in the kitchen washing up bottles and preparing for my last pump of the day and MOTN pump I don't usually end up going to bed until 11:30pm.
