My baby is 3 weeks old today he was born at 6.7 pounds and 21 in so long - he dropped to 6 pounds and by 2 weeks he was up to 6.5 pounds. But he has a hard time keeping his formula down he spits up most of it and I try to give small amounts more frequently , I’ve tried gentlease and acid reflux formula but neither help the ar one made things worse. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to see but what has helped your baby’s gain weight or what other formulas worked so I can talk to the doctor about more formula options I’ve googled but most say gentlease or ar so I’m kinda at a lost point rn.

Now I am still learning as my baby is still breastfeeding but someone told me formula hurts the stomach a little bit, if you need formula then it's understandable but I know she also told me you can buy breast milk from banks so they gain weight. ( I probably wouldn't use someone else breast milk unless my baby was loosing weight and formula wasn't working) just putting that out there but again I'm still learning myself.

I'm BF so don't know much about formula feeding. But if I was having that problem I would try a few different formulas to see if he can keep it down better. Would love to hear some formula feeding mom's advise on this one. Bump.

Your baby could have a milk allergy and that's why the reflux is so bad but obviously check with your doctor about that. I have my son on a soy formula (Similac Soy Isomil) and have for months but that was because he was super gassy and fussy, not because of reflux.

Has he been checked for tongue or lip ties?

no ?

My daughter spit up a lot so I did some research and found that it can be a cause. She did have a lip tie but I just fed her very small amounts every hour and after few weeks she was much better.

I looked and he does have a lip tie im gonna read up on it thank you for suggesting that the doctor today was not helpful at all !

Hope it helps and it gets better soon.
