Exclusive pumping - when to drop the night time pump?

I have exclusively pumped since my baby was 1 week old. He is now 15 weeks old. I currently do 5 pumps a day ranging about 4-5hours apart and get enough for 7-8 6oz bottles a day. (My son currently drinks 6oz). I have always done a 3am pump as my son would wake up only once in the night around this time for a little “dream feed” however for the last week or so he’s been dropping that feed, but I have continued to wake up and pump due to me stressing about the potential drop in my supply.

I ideally want to to carry this night time pump on till my son is 6 months old where then I think maybe should I drop that 3am pump if he is still sleeping through and is started on solids/purées so it wouldn’t really matter if my supply dropped a little?

But then I’m overthinking it like what if I stop that pump and my milk drops dramatically? I would love to continue to exclusively pump until my son is 12months old. I am then stressing when do I start dropping all the feeds as I ideally don’t want to still be pumping when I return to work at in June 2024.

Please help fellow pumping mamas, as I’m pulling my hair out with overthinking.

Following as I’m in a simmilar position. I haven’t consistently stopped during the night but when I do miss that 3am pump due to LO sleeping through I tend to just power pump during one pumping session whenever I can during the day to maintain my supply which has worked so far. I may be wrong but when I did some research about dropping pumping sessions it said to do at 6 months as your supply is regulated by then but then others say to dropping a session 3 months pp won’t effect supply if LO doesn’t awake for night feed. You could always drop the session and see how you go with your supply and can always increase my pumping a little more during the day or power pumping to increase supply once again

Im the same i was getting up 2-3 times a night expressing after and inbetween her feeds now she sleeps through im still getting up, ive gradually gone longer between expressing, i express before i go to bed about 9pm then i express between 1-2am and can usually get between 8-9 oz (enough for 2 feeds) then i won't need to express again till she wakes up again around 6am but i stretch it out till her nap time about 8am ish? My supply hasnt dropped a lot they become engorged after 4-5 hours so thats the longest i go so thats reduced the amount of night expresses to just 1, any extra milk i have ive been freezing so when shes on solids and be having less milk i already have it so i can hopefully stop expressing from 6-7 months old 😊

I exclusively pump since about when my baby was two weeks old due to her falling asleep on the boob so she was not eating enough this way. I normally pump 4 times a day and very early on stopped the night time pump with no issue and have enough to put extra in the freezer. I recently went down to three pumps in a day due to being too busy with work, etc and has been able to feed her without a problem, she is 4 months. I just don’t have extra for my stash. My supply did decrease some as it normally would when pumping less, but not too much to worry about. Whenever I want to bring it back up i just drink extra water and eat oatmeal and it helps my supply literally by the next day. I would say if u pump more during the day and skip the night time pump your body should be fine with this, just know your boobs will be extra full by morning so they will hurt some.

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!

Rapid cool/ hot shot method

Sorry if this sound stupid but how are we doing the hot shot method?
Are we boiling the kettle and letting it cool a little before adding to hot flask? Then with the cool water do you boil the kettle and leave it to cool right down before putting into another flask?
My baby brain is fried trying to work out the easiest way!

Rant/WWYD

My sister (youngest, 24) has two kids, 4 & 1, and i (oldest, 30) just have my one who’s 6mo old right now, so i ask her for advice or call her to vent about things sometimes. Well im tired of her turning around and telling my other family members that I’m “losing my sh*t.” Literally have not lost my sh*t nor have i ever freaked out to her about my baby, i just call her to talk and tell her what stage my baby is in or talk through how im feeling, but she chooses to tell people that im like a complete nutcase or something which worries me that my family is going to start being judgmental about me as a mother or looking at me funny like I’m some fragile ticking time bomb.

What would you do in this situation? I’m already pretty much decided that I’ll stop telling her anything about my struggles, but I’m almost at the point where i feel like it should be confronted because she, of all people, should understand what I’m going through.
