Ear piercing

Does anyone have any recommendations for a Tattoo/Piercing shop to pierce my 6 year old daughters ears? I am going to take her Tuesday and am looking for something affordable but also a kid friendly staff and a decent job piercing. Thank you!

Try Claire's in the mall. They did my daughter's and no issues

@Emmanuella I've heard bad things about Claire's not piercing ears right, and people say you're not supposed to pierce ears with a gun anymore, which Claires does. I'm not sure, but I don't want to risk them messing up. I doubt she'll be ok to get them pierced twice, lol.

Oh I see. My girl was pierced at 4 months and it's still open and nothing happened. But I understand where u coming from

ok. Well, maybe I can try then. How much is it for both ear lobes and do they take walk ins?

Definitely don’t go to Claire’s!! You could try enchanted dragon off of broadway but they might only take her if she’s 12 🤷🏼‍♀️ also sacred art off 4th Ave has good piercers too. I would call the shops before going in and ask what age they’ll do lobes at first though.

I was going to originally take her to Sacred Art but why do you say not to go to Claire's?

They use the piercing guns, like you said, which a terrible for you. They don’t properly sterilize the guns (from what I know) and they hire 16 years olds, give them all of 5 minutes of training for how to use the guns, and then let them pierce people… in my opinion, it’s not sanitary and they don’t have the proper training. You’re definitely better off going to a professional piercer.

When my LO is old enough to ask for a piercing, if she wants one, we’ll definitely be going to a shop.

Yes they do walk ins and they sterilized everything they used in our presence. We went to the one at the Tucson mall. And it was $40 for both piercing and the earrings. She just recently changed the earrings to something else.

If your daughter has skin sensitivity issues Claire’s might not be the best place sadly, I had to have my first lobes re-pierced twice, they got infected twice no matter how much I followed the cleaning regime. I know everyone can be different and a lot of girls do better with Clair’s because the environment is more comfortable , my mom ended up caving and just got my ears done professionally with a needle because I kept having issues with claires. I also have scar tissue on my left ear because the first two times my ear was pierced diagonally almost so it was also super uncomfortable. Just do what you feel is best, none of us will judge you just letting you know some kids just do better if it’s not done with the gun.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(
