Returning to work/quitting job

I imagine it will depend on your company's maternity policy. I have to return to work for a minimum of 12 weeks in January, as I took enhanced maternity pay instead of SMP x

No. I essentially get my normal pay for 26 weeks & then SMP for the remaining 13 weeks of maternity leave. Contact your HR department & ask them to email you their maternity policy. It should have in there what you need to do if you don't wish to return after maternity leave

If you had smp with no enhancements, you are not required to pay it back.

No! Lol i went on may leave Jan 22, quit my job 18th December. Wanted my holiday pay before Christmas😂 my policy was clear no enhancements of pay no requirement to return to work. Your company should of ensured you had access to the company policy.

As people have stated, only your enhanced pay would be affected, if at all, but it really varies between companies so you will have to check your employee manual/ maternity policy or contact your HR department to be absolutely sure!
