Bad Vaccine Reaction

I’m intrigued as my baby has just come out of hospital after suffering a very bad reaction to her 16 week vaccinations. Has anyone else experienced their baby reacting badly to them?

My LG was fine.. hope you’re both okay! What was it in the vaccine she reacted to?

Just a question was she okay with the other ones the 8/12 week ones

Honestly it’s been the worst experience of my life. I’m still not 100% sure what caused the reaction unfortunately, her temperature rocketed up to over 39 degrees, she was vomiting and her legs turned red and purple, she started to go very drowsy and wasn’t responsive, so I rushed to the hospital. She then developed spotting on her legs which they considered could be meningitis, they were very unsure if she was having a reaction or not but after multiple blood tests etc it was confirmed to be the vaccine 😞 Thankfully she is on the mend now but I’d never heard of this happening before so it was absolutely terrifying and just the most horrific thing to see them trying to take bloods and failing.

Her temperature went up with the 8/12 week vaccine but never to 39 and she was a little irritable but that was it. The first vaccines are the same as the 16 week ones I believe so I have no idea what caused this 😓

Oh gosh bless you that sounds so scary!!💔 hope she fully recovers soon and just remember to talk to people and get support if it’s scarred you as it sounds traumatic xxx

It really was the most traumatic thing I’ve ever been through 😓 I would not wish it on anybody, I think I should definitely seek some support as it’s easy to blame yourself. I thought I was doing the best thing for her and now I just have no idea anymore x

Yeah my little girl took a bad reaction (delayed) to the vaccines. We were in hospital as she projectile vomited and her temp went up to 39. She wasn’t eating either which isn’t like her as she’s a greedy guts. She was hard to wake also. She’s absolutely fine now!

But my little one had no reaction to the other vaccines.

oh please don’t! We think she caught a viral infection at the same time which is why she ended up so unwell. It’s not common for reactions to be so severe. I’d recommend ibuprofen as that was so much better for bringing the temp down than Calpol x

Please don’t panic, it’s super rare for babies to react so badly. I’m sure yours will be absolutely fine. Definitely use the Calpol, my LG is not a fan so I would suggest having the Calpol with the sugar to entice your little one to take it if they aren’t a fan of the sugar free! As long as they have the Calpol they should be absolutely fine, my little girl was constantly spitting it out which didn’t help our particular situation x

My LO every feed. Drs don’t seem to think it’s a problem the whole Muslim cloth gets soaked so much I’m using towels now. I’ve tried size O teats he gets really frustrated and still spills it out :(

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

My seven year old

Is out of control. Her dad and I share 50/50 and when she comes to my house she is so mean. And idk what to do

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Bedtime

What time are you getting your LOs down for the night now and how are you finding bedtime? We’ve had the sane routine since my daughter was a few weeks old - bath with her older sister and 6.45, followed by a bottle and ideally in bed by 7.30. This worked at first but over the last few weeks she’s been fighting it a lot and, with the exception of a few days last week which were a lot easier, it’s a bit of a battle to get her down and features a lot of screaming and resettling. Not sure if we are putting her down too early or late? Her last nap is usually a cat nap (30-45 mins) and finishes by 6. She’s pretty good at settling herself from a night feed, but seems to be unable to do it at bedtime, even with her dummy.
