My son is formula fed, he has never ever accepted any water until now. I just offered him some today as he was especially fussy after feeding and he drank like he has never drunk before. I didn’t give him more than 30mls though as i’m not sure how much is too much..
What do you all do in this regard?
Thanks!

That's more than enough for the whole day. It's advised no water before 6 months but I have seen people posting their GP has told them 1oz over the whole day as to not overload their immature kidneys

that’s right, however for formula fed babies you can offer some water in hot weather. I have been quite releived though that he has not accepted it, i thought it meant he had not needed it, but now he reached towards the bottle to bring it to his mouth… bless him

My health visitor told me I could give my little one water a while ago due to constipation. He’s had water for past month or so. She told me I could give bits between feeds as he’s formula feed. I see a lot off people on here say they’re not to have water. Ask your health visitor as mine said it’s fine as long as not to much. :)
