I do not like my hv at all. She ignores my thoughts so often. Daughter is 2 and we r planning on home education her when she's a but older (starting a bit now). HV has went behind my back and spoke to a nursery to get a full placement. I told her that myself and partner didn't see it benefitting daughter, I mentioned that I feel like she might have a neurological issue happening as she can flip within 2 seconds. I know toddlers will be toddlers but this isn't normal and again got ignored and just told that she will "grow out of it". She did used to go nursery and was in a mixed class with her age and older and like 2 days after starting she started biting. She wouldn't do it before. As soon as I stopped taking her she stopped biting. I don't know how to request a new HV. She treats me as if I'm a 2 year old myself and acts like my disability (I'm autistic and see same traits in daughter) is the problem I don't want her to go nursery. Sorry for the rant I'm just sick of getting treated like a 2year old just because I refuse to put daughter into nursery. (Nursery did also say they couldn't stop bio dad from picking daughter up -partner is only dad se knows as bio dad has no contact- it was a major safe guarding issue but I got brushed off) am I in the wrong to ask for a new one. And does anyone know how long you have a HV for

Is there a reason you have a health visitor so involved? There’s a review at 1 year old and then at 2 years old but between the reviews they are just there for you to contact if you need them?

I only saw my HV twice. I didn’t they you get assigned one for so long?
I’m sure if you put in a request for a new one you can.

You should have received a letter when baby was born from the health visiting team there will be a number on it. if you call them and explain your problems they will change your health visitor and file a complaint for you xxx
@Elizia I had a family nurse when baby was first born so the letter is addressed for them never got one from HV
@Lisa I am a young mum (18) think that is why but my sister who is 20 is also having a family nurse. I never got the choice to not have one

In Australia we have a maternal health nurse. Our kids see them until they are 3.5/4years but the visits are slowly spaced out longer and longer in between. My 4 year old had his last visit at 3.5yrs and since he had no issues a 4 year visit wasn’t necessary. They never go behind your back and just do stuff, mainly there to weigh, measure address concerns you may have and to give you information for the age of your child. I’m so sorry yours sounds like real handful
