Bright red spotting?

Sorry you’re going through this. It’s so stressful. It could be spotting or it could be the start or something, I don’t think there’s any way to know for sure (based on personal experience) unless it continues or not. EPU could scan you, or do a test to measure HcG levels and go again in 24hrs but don’t know if they would without some other symptoms. Hope it all works out x

Hi, just to let you know you're not alone I'm experiencing some spotting too. Called the hospital I'm registered with today and they're going to do a scan as soon as I'm 6 weeks. I've also got an appointment with my GP tomorrow.

It's so worrisome, but then also have to try not to stress too much, as that's not helpful for baby and body either 😓

For reassurance, I've been doing as much research as possible and from what I can see it can be a completely normal symptom. Best to get checked out, but hopefully all is fine.

Thank you and … so far no other symptoms, so fingers crossed it’s nothing! I’ll call my GP as soon as they open, since that seems to be the NHS advise anyway. Deep breaths and try not to worry/stress…

I’ve had exactly the same, this morning I was sick then half a hour later I was bleeding, it wasn’t heavy and it wasn’t spotting but enough to make me worry
I booked a scan but they couldn’t scan me but they called the early pregnancy unit for me and they advice to do a test in a weeks time , I stopped bleeding around 1pm this afternoon and I haven’t had any pain, im really worried too so going to pay for a scan at 6 weeks x

Quick update - I called my GP and they arranged for a scan first thing in the morning of the day I turned 6 weeks.

The scan showed a heartbeat! And a large “bruise” that apparently can be formed by the egg implanting… the bruise is draining and that’s the bleeding, they say. I hope that’s the only thing, but it’s still unsettling to see so much blood every time I use the toilet….

They’ve told me to call if it doesn’t stop in a week or if I start having cramping/pain. The midwives at the EPU were amazingly kind, so I’d definitely encourage everyone to contact their EPU if in doubt!
