Midnight is cursed???

Hi all

My little one turns 5 months this weekend. For the last week he has woken up at some point between 11:50pm and midnight every night without fail, regardless of whether he falls asleep at 7:30 or 9pm or anywhere in between.

He used to do an initial 6 hour stretch and wake between 2-3am so I don’t understand where the sudden midnight wakes are coming from?

It’s so frustrating because when I put him down at 8-9pm, I tidy up from dinner, clean down the kitchen, tidy up the living room, pump and then go to bed around 10 / 10:30 ish. So I’m getting an hour and a half MAX before he wakes up.

Last night I was able to settle him with a dummy and a hand wiggling his chest but tonight that hasn’t worked at all and I’ve had to feed him back to sleep despite the fact he had a 7oz bottle at 8:30pm and absolutely cannot be hungry.

And to make it worse, my husband stirs, asks what’s wrong, and says “Oh, I didn’t realise it was only half 12 I thought it was like 3am” …yeah because you’ve slept peacefully through the whole ordeal! He then gets up to go to the loo, gets back into bed, rolls over and goes back to fucking sleep!!!!!!! While I’m sat here having been awake for an hour at this point, rocking the baby for long enough to get him in a deep enough sleep to put him down.

I m at a similar situation, it’s quite frustrating as well.. I have twins 6 month even during the day one is awake and other sleeping and vice versa so can’t sleep during the day at night one or the other wakes up randomly crying middle the night sometimes it’s a burp stuck and sometimes nothing lol.. this keeps happening throughout night every hour etc and then I have to feed as well in between. My partners walks in the morning saying he had peaceful sleep and I m looking at his face what?? It does get lonely at night feeding and waking up alone. I don’t know what to do either but I do understand your situation.. I m hoping as they grow it gets better.

I m also trying to do this now might help you as well… try and finish the tasks beforehand ask husband to look after baby before you put him/her to bed.. that way I feel I can sleep when they sleep and just wake up for feeds.. for example of baby goes to bed at 8 pm you go as well .. I also clean kitchen etc before 7pm so just focus on putting them to sleep and then rest.. hope I m making sense..

Could be a leap and sleep regression, but it is possible he's hungry.. to him he doesn't know what day and night is, he can't tell the time the and think oh its 12am I should be asleep, all he will know is its dark and his belly is starting to hurt.
If he has a dummy try just putting that back in, maybe reposition him alittle and stroke his head. That might help him settle back off, if not then he's hungry.
While it is a Ballache when you've only just got in bed before your having to get up again it doesn't last long and he will grow out of it. As mentioned above try going to sleep when baby does at night so then you can get an extra couple of hours?

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.
