Night time help

Need help if anyone has successfully dropped night feedings. I think we are on the right track after last night but my baby went from sleeping through the night to waking every hour. I changed her night routine a bit last night and gave her 3 purée meals instead of 2. This helped to get her to sleep with less wakings thankfully but she still woke hysterical and took a full bottle 6oz at 11am and 3oz at 2am. I feed her when she’s hungry, not on an exact schedule since I have no idea how to do that and she does eat a LOT so if it’s a feeding issue I have no idea how to help her eat more in daytime. If it’s a soothing issue I don’t know how to stop it because nothing works during those 2 times til she gets the bottle. Like most times I can just replace the pacifier or flip her on her side like she likes and pat her/shhh her and she is back to sleep until these times where she’s seemingly hungry. Thanks in advance! 💖

I think there a sleep regression everyone’s baby is going through. Please don’t drop feeding until they are 1 or your dr gave you the okay they still need or want that food! I’ve been dealing with this for the past 2 months and last night was probably the first time in forever my son only woke up once. It will pass just give her a couple weeks she could also be having a growth spurt.

For me we’ve dropped night time feedings around 5 months with drs okay. I give my daughter 2-3 purées during the day so breakfast and dinner sometimes a lil snack depending on how hungry she is. We also stick to a schedule for night time so dinner, bath, massage and book and then a last 4oz bottle before bed. That seems to work really well she doesn’t wake during the night. Try a schedule if that can work for you!

okay thanks! I thought maybe it was just me. We had planned to drop our 4am feed long ago per the doctor and I just can’t get rid of it and then now we end up with 2-4 a night which is alarming when it hasn’t happened before haha. We got lucky on our 4 month like she still slept through the night but with 2 dream feeds where we intervened not her waking up. Now she wakes fully screaming inconsolable without that bottle.

yep we have a schedule! I just altered it yesterday to add in a last call playtime at 5 instead of jumping into dinner and I feel like that plus doing 3 purées instead of 2 helped a lot last night. I can’t thank you guys enough for your info and it’s nice to know I’m not alone! Hoping our extended night routine progresses even more tonight.

that’s how my son has been he would have maybe 1-2 bottles a night and now I kid you not he’s going through like 6 lol it’s been a nightmare😭😅 if it lasts a while tho definitely call and see if there’s something you can do or something else going on. Honestly for me it seems like when I started purées his sleep got worse idk how that works tho lol

girl yes!! I blame the purées!! I’ll give our new updated night routine a week or so and see. I want to move her to her nursery soon but not if she’s not sleeping through the night

how much does your daughter weigh? I think the bigger babies need more calories like mine and just can’t seem to get enough during the day.

Honestly with my son we never did a schddule and he was a mess at night 😢. I couldn’t even tell u when he slept or how much lol. I was oblivious ! But now with my daughter it’s helped a lot. But she does fluctuate. We breastfeed with 2 -3 meals or purées depending on her.. I offer breakfast, lunch n dinner(she’s 8 months in 2 weeks). She was sleeping through the night but she got 2 teeth which made things rough. Then sleep regressions. She now sleeps from 9-9 (it was 8-8, and I want it back there, so slowly changing) I noticed that if she gets too much sleep she wakes more often. So I cut her down to two naps, but she is also at the age where it is developmentally appropriate. So just keep in mind a balance of sleep is necessary(which I’m sure u know) . Some think overtired or undertired don’t exist because us adults can sleep always lol

But as far as soothing. My daughter is learning self soothing. I give her five minutes of fussing and if she doesn’t calm
Down I get her because it usually means she’s hungry or needs extra comfort. Then I lay her back in her crib after nursing. We do have rough nights like ur describing though. And sometimes I accidentally cosleep. So just know; you’re doing so good and one waking at night isn’t terrible! Another helpful thing is putting them to bed on time. Their circadian rhythm for slepenis between 6-830pmz my daughter has been wake up during the 9-9 aboit 2-3x but when she slept @8pm-830she tried sleeping until like 9-10am 🤣 so it definitely makes a difference

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

I feel like just a milk cow

Hi I have a 16 day old via c section, I'm a FTM never having been around babies before as I am the youngest of my household and from a small family. My husband is fantastic with our little one. But ever since I've had the baby I just feel like the only thing I'm good for is producing milk. I feel disconnected from my husband like the only reason he's around is because am producing milk. We were having some issues before the baby and we're struggling it took a while to feel like he was onboard even though he said he was from the moment we found out. I dunno if I'm feeling like a spear part because I'm lacking confidence with baby or because I feel like he wouldn't mind being a single dad. Is this postpartum hormones or something else?

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.
