My little one is almost 17 weeks. He is teething and is still waking regularly during the night for feeds. Has anyone introduced anything like baby porridge/rice/crushed up rusks at bed time before 6 months? I wondered if something a little bit more substantial would help hi feel fuller for longer at night.

It’s normal for them to wake up at night to feed :-) not all babies sleep through.

I wouldn’t wean if your doing it just for a decent nights sleep, you need to make sure your baby is actually ready to be weaned! It isn’t something you do just for the sake of it as it could cause serious problems if your baby isn’t ready
That being said my boy when we started weaning a while back started with baby rice but he wouldn’t eat it so throw that out and he had porridge (about 2 hours before bed) which he loved

It’s totally normal for them to still wake for feeds

Research shows that starting solids does not make any difference to babies waking at night

I agree with all of the above. Some babies just wake up more than others. My son was a terrible sleeper for the first 22months of his life. My daughter who's 19 weeks now, sleeps really well most nights. Unless your baby is constantly draining 9oz bottles or constantly feeding on the breast and not just for comfort, they're not craving food. It's just their sleep cycle unfortunately.
