FAKE RING

Am I wrong for being mad at my husband every so often when i think of the fact that he’s been having me wear a fake ring for almost 4 years now?? It was just supposed to be temporary. Here’s 4 years and I’m so insecure about it because people sometimes notice the fake diamond. I know he has 30k cash in his savings and a lot of cd’s/investment. We’ve been through a lot and I’ve sacrificed oso much it’s unimaginable. I feel like i deserve a nice beautiful ring. I don’t like to bring it up because i feel the tension but I’m sick of this! it’s not about the materialistic i know but for me it’s the principle and the meaning behind the ring. It’s my sacrifice. It’s been close to 4 YEARS!!!!! It’s EMBARRASSING

Nope you're not wrong. Honestly I'd just take it off & not wear it anymore. If he doesn't like the idea of you walking around with no ring oh well time for him to get you a real one.

Avatar

YES! I’ve attempted that multiple times but i feel bad right now because he’s not working and moved to the US recently from Australia. But i still feel like 1.You have money saved up 2. It’s been 4 year and you had a good job. We did a long distance marriage for awhile and i supported myself and our daughter for the most part while he supported himself. I love him he’s a great person and father but you were suppose to buy my ring at lease 3 years ago. After all i did

Avatar

if he’s not working and moved literal countries then yes. like he worked to save up money. the meaning behind a ring doesn’t matter if it’s real or not it’s the meaning behind it. are you expecting him to spend his entire savings on a ring for you?

Avatar

of course i don’t expect him to use his entire savings on my ring however I’d like something real. We got $50 rings from Walmart for our court wedding almost 4 years ago. It was suppose to be temporary. As a woman I’d like something forever! Do you know how hard it is lol everything will change the color of this ring! Before he moved here he made 10k a month! And he’d invest everything and we end up struggling or living off of me

Wow material things mean so much to everyone. I was married for years and I had a fake ring the whole time if it doesn't work out has nothing to do with a ring its material 😂

Avatar

exactly! she says it’s not about material but it is that’s the whole post. i’d be happy with a ring pop 😂

ringpop Deadpool 😂

30k is the liquid asset incase of emergency. Other than insurance and all. I do not expect for him to buy me a 30k ring. I just want something meaningful. Not just because we needed a quick ring at Walmart that cost $50. Something that won’t change in color just because and something that i can maybe pass down to my son and generations. A forever thing.

Avatar

It’s not about the material. It’s the principle behind the ring. Any woman (most women) would appreciate being gifted something beautiful and that i can keep forever. You ring becomes a part of you. It’s an identity. It’s a symbol of our commitment and i plan to wear it for the rest of my life or gift it to my son one day. A fake ring will eventually not look as beautiful as it did when you first bought it. I want to be at awe Everytime i see my ring. I know he’s going to get me a real one soon but I’m sick of waiting. I would never settle. Sorry that’s just me. I deserve the best because i give the best. It is what it is. I’ve realized that from this post. Don’t ever settle ladies. A ring loop will eventually decay and so will the fake ring. Trust me i know!

Avatar

so then what is “the best” to you? what would you be happy with? he can buy you a $200 ring that won’t change color and is beautiful would that make you happy? or no because it’s only $200

Avatar

yes that’ll be nice. The price doesn’t matter as long as its going to be beautiful forever and like you said won’t turn green lol.

If the ring is getting to your. Break up with this man. Y'all wouldn't even be able tobget through any type of financial crisis if this means so much to your. Stop wasting both of your time.

Avatar

We’ve passed the financial crisis. By the grace of God we are very financially stabled. That’s the point. Finance is not an issue. We have completed every Goal we wanted to reach by the time we were 30. And were 27 including buying our house, his business, having our child, traveling etc. Except the ring. The thing is he just loves to freaking invest invest invest.

Avatar

That's great! Its definitely tough. Have you said anything to him about the ring recently?

Avatar

Maybe find a ring you like and show it to him. I

Avatar

Yes. He’s even got me ring sized and took me into several ring stores and asked me for ideas and when i think it’s finally happening it doesn’t 🙄.

Avatar

TAKE IT OFF! 😤

Avatar

lol I’m not delusional right ?!!! Cause i keep getting this a ring is just a ring thing. And it’s not even !

Heartbreak

After years of trying, months of back and fourth on the fate of our marriage, indecision, fights. The whole enchilada my husband and I are separating, divorcing. Whatever. I'm so goddamn heart broken. I feel like it's a death and I'm in mourning. We have a 3 year old son and currently and for the foreseeable we are going to coparent and live together. This makes things harder because neither one of us can really move on but it's how it is. He understands and he's trying to heal too. But I can't understand why now that things are over he can be kind. He's been more amazing in the last week since I ended things than ever. Why couldn't he do that when we were together for years I begged for change, we saw a counselor I tried everything and he just wouldn't. Now he seems to turn a switch and be able to just do it all. But it's too late. My heart aches. My body aches. Love sucks.

Partner works incredibly long hours, how much do they help out?

I'm struggling. Have been for a while. I've had one break from parenting my daughter, that was for 3 hours in December when I left her with her dad.

She's 14 months old and I'm just tired. I've done every night by myself. He's out of bed at 4am and doesn't get home until 7-9pm. He drives for work, very physically tiring.
On the weekends he was doing 6 days, one weekend day off, but now has both off.

He doesn't sit on the floor and play with her, he doesn't read to her because he says she doesn't have the patience.
He will pick her up and hold her whilst he's cooking.

Recently I've been "snappy" with him.
He got back from the mechanic last weekend, she was getting onto the sofa and he put his headphones on and started to watch Netflix on his phone.
The same day I told him I was going to run her bath and to watch her whilst she was still eating, he fell asleep on the sofa.

Today he went to football after going shopping, so was out 1-3 and then from 4-8.
He got back and I was snappy.

"I don't get why you're so snappy with me"

I said - Probably because I haven't had a break since December.

"Do you think I don't know you haven't had a break. I haven't had a break", "I just won't go to work, I'll sit at home all day".

Then "do you think I like not having a connection to my child"... But that's on him? He never sits to play with her. He "doesn't see the point". He's stated that this age is boring to him.

Since she's been born, he has been to a friend's once a month. Football - He stopped going for 7months, but has been the last two weekends.

Are these not breaks?

He does do the washing/washing up/cooking/vacuuming when I haven't had a chance to; but I'm the one in charge of feeding her, naps/bedtime, teeth brushing, hair brushing, baths, dressing her, making sure she has the right shoes, appointments etc. Everything falls on me.

If your partner works ridiculously long hours, how much do they look after your child? Do you ever get a break?

Am I wrong ?

My daughter’s 1st birthday was Thursday and nobody wished her a happy birthday from her dads family but his mom watched his story. Should I put my foot down and set boundaries for them to accept accountability or should I just let them stay on that side for as long as they want and not worry about it?

Hi mummas! I need help with potty training?

My daughter is 4 years old, she will be turning 5 this November. I’ve tried everything I can think of, to help her and encourage her. I’ve tried bribing, I’ve tried sticker charts, I’ve tried buying her underwear of her choice— nothing. She’s suspected autistic. She will not try. She will sit on the potty at nursery for a few minutes and that’s it! At home, nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🎀✨
