Transverse

Hi, has anyone's baby been in transverse position at 37 weeks, if so what was the outcome? They are saying I may need to get a c section

Mine was breech at my last growth scan, I’ve got my 36 week soon but my consultant said if she’s still breech then they’d probably ask me to consider an ECV and hope that she moves so I can have my water birth. So you’d likely be offered an ECV. X

Mine gave us some exercises to try to flip baby. It did work but we ended up with a c-section due to slight cord compression making vaginal delivery too dangerous

@Keela yeah, I had my heart set on a water birth. Currently sat on my birthing ball willing her to move xx

@Rachel yeah, they have told me about cord compression and if my waters break to ring 999. I have my scan Thursday next week so will be told then what will happen xx

Look up spinning babies it works or ECV.

@Keela I was told you can't have a ECV with transverse babies xx

oh really? Tbh my consultant only briefly mentioned it and mine was breech so I’m not sure on transverse lol. I’m just spending my life in the tilted bridge position or on my ball lol xx

I tried so hard with the exercises to turn my baby. Had the ECV and all but nothing worked. Hence the c-section. I would never risk a vaginal breech birth.

Mine was transverse for like 90% of my pregnancy. Was a total nightmare!

Look up Spinning Babies. It might help you to get baby into a better position.

I had a c-section booked at 39+1, and he had moved from transverse to head down, but he was back to back. So thank goodness for the c-section!
My first was back to back, and I couldn't do that natural delivery again!

Mine was between transverse and footling breech! I had the ECV but it was unsuccessful (3 attempts). I then had a c section booked but baby decided not to wait - waters broke and I went into labour. I was rushed into hospital due to the risk of cord prolapse and had an emergency c section that evening x

So if I go to this scan Thursday and she is still transverse, how soon after would my c section be arranged typically? Would it be within a couple of days? Or more like a week or something? Xx

they said to me they don't like to book the c section before 38 weeks as like to leave baby in as long as possible, but if you have other risk factors they might book you sooner.

Also they might admit you to stay in hospital until your c section - they would have done that with me if mine had been completely transverse xx

normal or infected?

5 weeks post c section , i went at the beginning of the week as my wound had opened completely different area to what’s leaking. was told it didn’t look infected. anyone know if this is normal coming off it, it’s only a little amount at a time

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Baby names

My daughter‘s name is valentýna and I’m struggling to find other nice girl and boy names beginning with V I’ve got a few and I’ve got loads that aren’t beginning with V, but I feel like I wanna go for all vs and I also love girl and boys names that match so because my daughter’s name is valentýna I would love to call my son Valentino my husband does not agree 😃

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

I am so done with pregnancy !

Everything i do hurt . I sit down / i stand up / i walk / i lie down. I am in pain ! I am tired ! His mouvement hurt down there like electricity chock ! My back is on fire ! If i walk more then 5 minutes i feel like i am going to die ( low ferritine) the acid reflux is crazy . I mean i can’t and don’t wanna do this no more . Only 31 weeks !

Almost 37 weeks + told to do another growth scan

I just had my second to last doctor’s appointment this morning, and my OB told me she wants me to do another growth scan because my belly is measuring small. She says it’s probably just because I’m a smaller woman, but they like to be safe. It’s hard to hear though, since I just did one a couple months ago.

I did this with my firstborn around this time of pregnancy, so I do think I just carry smaller (even though I don’t feel like I look “small” at all). My first baby was 6lbs 15oz when she was born at 41 weeks + 2 days. I’m having this baby at 39 weeks on April 7. I hope she’s still at least 6lbs.

Anyone have any stories similar to this?
