No eating beforehand, a blood test, then you have to drink this pouch which taste like really sugary lucozade😂 then sit in the waiting room for 2 hours.. then another blood test to compare the two x

Do you get the results same day?

No hun they usually only contact you if it's positive if you don't hear anything it should be OK.

I recommend bringing a sandwich or something to eat after. I was starving after, and brought something sweet which I regretted as the drink was really sweet. Bring a book or something to try help pass the time. The 2 hours for me felt very long.

I couldn’t eat or drink from 10pm night before. Went in had bloods taken, had to drink a sugary drink whilst she watched this was like flat lemonade, she then gave me some water which was half a cup and said it’s all I can drink in the two hours. The two hours was so painfully boring and mindnumbing sat there, so prepare yourself for that two hours. I got my results same day simply because my blood sugars went opposite and were really low otherwise it’s 2-3 days she said! X

Had mine today, fasted from 10pm last night, can still drink water though. Went in, had first blood test, had to drink the drink in under 5 mins, tasted like gone off cheap capri sun, back in the waiting room for two hours and then another blood test. I took a book and listened to music and actually went by surprisingly quickly.

I couldn’t eat from 8.30pm, luckily the appointment was 8.30am so practically slept through my fasting period. You get your bloods done then they’ll give you this cheap tasting syrup drink and you’ll wait 2 hours - can only drink water then they’ll take bloods again. To pass the time, make use of reading the info boards, playing a game on your phone or listen to music. Make sure you bring a snack but I’m sure the hospital will give you something after anyway (they gave me a pack of bourbons). I didn’t receive my results til 2 days later

I had mine Sunday, I fasted from 9pm Saturday night & was in there at 8.50am Sunday, could still drink water.
They took bloods, then drank the sugary drink which tasted like a strong orange capri sun. Did blood pressure, urine sample, measured bump, listened ti heartbeat, spoke a bit about birth plans & feeding etc which took an hour, so I only had to wait an hour in the waiting room before the final blood test at 10.55 x

When do you get this test? I’ve had my 28 week appointment and nothings been mentioned?

you only get the test if someone in your family has diabetes, or you’re at high risk of getting it so most people don’t!
