I had gestational diabetes in a prior pregnancy (that results in a miscarriage 6yrs ago). For this pregnancy my OB wanted check me early to catch it if I had it. When I was 22wks, I took the one hour glucose test and passed. All is well. Then when I reached the 3rd trimester at 28wks, it was the normal time for the glucose test. I took the test the second time and my 1hr glucose was elevated so of course I failed. My OB wanted put me on medication but I told her “no”. I know I don’t have GD so at 30wks I opt in to taking the 3hr test for what I thought was final determination.
My OB said in order to pass the 3hr test 2 out of the 4 readings need to say “normal”. I proceeded to take the 3hr test. My fasting number normal; the 1hr elevated; the 2nd and 3hr reading all normal. Once again I passed 3 out of the 4 readings with all normal readings. Today at 32w5d she tells me she wants me to do a 2hr test to check my levels for GD. I don’t have preeclampsia, my baby girl measuring big and I have gained weight but oh well. Atp I don’t want to be rude & I kinda wanna decline. Is it me or does another test seem obsessive? Thoughts, opinions

It does seem a bit much but maybe your OB finds it weird that you don’t have GD again since you did the first time and wants to make sure? Idk but if you’ve done it enough where you feel comfortable then I would politely decline

I would probably decline at this point. I have a similar story this pregnancy.
I had 1 hour tests at 10 weeks and 28 weeks. I passed both but my doctor sent me for 3 hour because I was close to the cutoff at 28 weeks. My results were the same (elevated at 1 hour but fasting, 2 hour and 3 hour were fine). If they ask for another later on, I will decline. I’m tired of feeling sick and having blood drawn.

I feel like the stress of all the tests would do more damage than one elevated result, if you are okay without further testing, don’t feel bad about declining! Nothing is mandatory

so that was my original thought and she said just because you have GD once doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have it again in the next pregnancy. It’s like a 50/50 gamble and last time when I had it I weighted 225lb when that pregnancy started this time I weighted 172lb so I told her I made lifestyle changes over the years watch my health and I doubt I have it again and here we are poking poking poking 🤦🏾♀️

Thanks to everyone for their opinion
