Anxiety..

To preference this: I am diagnosed with an anxiety disorder but currently unmediated since my diagnosis came after I found I was pregnant from my long time therapist.

My anxiety is at an all time high. I am moody, having panic attacks, disassociating, and crying all the time. I feel like it’s rising my blood pressure and overall just stressing me out. It’s mainly due to still being pregnant and being in a work environment where I am constantly asked “omg why are you still here” blah blah. My ob appointments have been weird the last 3 weeks and I am finally seeing a regular Ob on monday(hopefully, as that was the plan at 36 weeks and then was stuck with some temp who didn’t know anything).

Is it wrong if me to ask for two thing at my 39 week appointment. The first being a membrane sweep to see if that can get labor going(I was 2cm, 50% effaced at 37w6) and second being If he isn’t here by friday (my due date) can I opt to be induced on Friday? There are a few factors being I have measuring really big my whole pregnancy and I am not sure how I can mentally handle going past my due date. Between my physical pain and my mental health, I don’t think it would be beneficial.

Advice?

Ask the OB! I was pleasantly surprised during my last appointment. I’m usually happy going in to see my doctor but last week, 39 week appointment, I was so over it, I cried during my visit. When the doc came in, I told her I was just done with this. She totally understood and didn’t seem phased or surprised by it at all. She offered to do a membrane sweep as long as I was 1cm dilated (and told me that this is the perfect week to do it actually) and scheduled me for an induction at 41 weeks if it doesn’t happen by then. I felt a lot better. There’s an end in sight now. The membrane sweep didn’t work for me I guess. But I think it did get things going. I lost my mucus plug, and last night I started having contractions hourly. I guess they stopped at some point throughout the night. But still a sign of progress I think. 😊 hopefully it will work for you. But yes, just ask them, mine is very understanding. I would think any experienced OB would be. Pregnancy is uncomfortable at this stage.

It doesn’t hurt to ask! I also have anxiety and I would recommend getting started on medication right away if that’s something you would want. Having anxiety myself, especially around health, having a newborn and questioning his health as well has been a challenge for me.

I would ask! I’m 39 +1 and I have an elective induction scheduled for Tuesday, made that apt last week at my 38 week apt.

Membrane sweep is also very standard after 39 weeks!

I would try to schedule an induction date with the hospital though! They are usually booked pretty tight so I’d schedule and they just cancel it if you go into labor before that day.

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.
