Can you share what you do with your baby when they are crying for no reason and not settling. As in, definitely not hungry, not in pain, not too hot or cold, clean nappy and probably just tired and ratty.
Do you leave them to cry alone?

I know if I stand up, hold him in a certain position and walk around the room with him, he settles. Also, sounds weird, but Kate Bush helps 😅😅
I have also learned that as soon as he starts getting grumpy, if I smile really wide at him and talk in a very high pitch voice, he ends up smiling too and is no longer grumpy.

My baby has had colic for almost 3 months now, she cries for between 1 and 5 hours a day so I have lots of experience in this! I have a yoga ball I bounce on while holding her over my shoulder, I walk up and down the room, I do the colic hold (aka tiger in the tree), I make loud shushing sounds, I take a shower with her, I put her in her pram and roll it over a doorway so it catches on the metal carpet holder thing and jiggers her about, I put her projector on or let her watch aquariums on telly. If it's been going on too long now I put dancing fruit on and sit her in front of it and that stops her for 10 min guaranteed.

I play music I know he likes and sing or pop him over my shoulder and shhhhh right over his ear 🤣 that always settles him in the mad mental breakdowns 😂 xx

In the worst breakdowns, I put her in the car seat and walk her around. Worked like magic on her 8weeks vaccine. For more mild situations, just hug her and shhhh her

hello! Quick q please as I suspect my baby has colic too. When your baby cries does she stop feeding? We had a 4 hour long crying episode today and baby didnt feed that whole time (ended up going around 7 hours before he fed again)

@Beita she sometimes stops yes, other times she's trying but can't stop herself from crying to latch on, or latches on and continues making the noises. It affects pretty much every aspect but I will say she's still gaining weight despite it, which is encouraging.

I’ll second sometimes put them down, not always but sometimes I pop him in “his corner” of the sofa with a stinky muslin and he just rubs it over his face and goes to sleep x

Literally put him over my shoulder and take him on a house tour.. by the windows... mirrors... anything that will distract him from the reason he is crying.
Thanks ladies, my baby definitely doesn’t have colic but gets overtired and nothing will settle her to sleep, she will keep waking and crying again, then I run out of energy trying things and eventually get a headache from the screaming in my ear so I’m struggling with what to do.

thank you so much! Im glad we arent the only one in this position. Hope your LO improves soon x
