I’m exactly the same. Had my 28weeks bloods and came back as low iron. Which explained why I’ve been feeling so fatigued. Unfortunately I’ve not been getting on with the tablets at all so I’m back to the pharmacy today to try something else….

Think it's quite common for pregnancy, you just have to take the iron tablets and be aware it takes months for your iron level to come up... also the tend to be hard on the stomach and cause constipation

I’ve also recently just been started on iron tablets. I’ve been getting monitored for it quite closely though as I was high risk of becoming anaemic. Think we just have to keep taking the tablets 🙂

Yeah me too im on iron tablets twice a day, they haven’t affected my stomach so far (been taking for nearly 2 weeks)

Yeah I have the same been taking iron since week 11 as I was borderline anaemic. Iv been fine on the tablets and now at week 28. They work best if you take them with vitamin c and avoid taking any dairy at the same time as the calcium can counteract the iron apparently

I’m in hospital but been prescribed iron tablets from tomorrow morning as I think I’m anaemic now? I think it’s common in the third trimester xx

I’ve been prescribed ferrous sulfate and have to take one a day. Doctor said I’ll most likely experience constipation … another thing to add to the list 😂

I just had my bloods drawn again, my iron was great last time but I suspect they are low now, i can't do anything without a nap/leg cramps..

I’ve been told to take one every other day with orange juice to prevent the constipation x

It’s quite common around late 2nd trimester for your iron levels to go down, due to the volume of blood and how quickly your iron is being used. I’ve also been put on iron tablets after my 28 week bloods.

I’m on low iron too. I was given Tablets but I’m not taking them as there’s too many side effects like piles etc. get spinach and fresh orange and blend it (smoothie) both are very high in iron. That’s what I’m doing. Do it the natural way x
