Is anyone asking for visitors to get the flu / COVID booster vaccine before they visit baby?
My parents will be staying over for a couple weeks and then after that my in-laws. My sister and SIL will just be visiting for a few days. Should I ask everyone to get vaccinated if they wish to come over? Do they need to?

I'm not as it's a personal choice to get vaccinated and I don't think it should seem to be forced on people to do it to be able to see my baby but I am feeling weird about people holding my baby after they have smoked - I think it's a touchy subject and down to personal preference but you could try and have a chat to them about your concerns - it's understandable you want to protect your baby at all costs xxxx

Baby should be fine for covid (doesn't really affect babies), for flu I just wouldn't let anyone visit who was feeling ill. I wouldn't make them get vaccine. Even of you are vaccinated you can carry it anyway, so wouldn't make much difference where baby is concerned.

I’m not going to force anyone to get any vaccinations, however I will tell them all that I don’t want them to come over if they have even just a sniffy nose, or a slightly scratchy throat

I am 34+1 and have booked a flu jab for next week on the advice of midwife. She said if I were to get flu at this stage in pregnancy it would make me and the baby very poorly.

I had the jab last week, I think they meant about asking other people who want to visit the baby once born

I am asking my in-laws and parents to update their TDaP vaccine and get the latest flu shot.
They’re the main people likely to interact with bubba for the first 3 months of his life.
If all goes according to plan and I breastfeed, he should be covered for most common illnesses from my milk before he completes his first round of vaccinations.
I contracted Covid just before my pregnancy. I don’t plan on taking the booster during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Absolutely not! The thought hadn’t even crossed my mind. I have a 4 year at school too so am I meant to get her fully up to date with her jabs?!
