Baby Monitors - which one to pick?! 🙈

I know we're very early on this and probably won't be using it properly for a while but looking to buy our baby monitor so we have it.

Has anyone else picked theirs yet? If so what did you go for?

We initially liked Vtech or Hubble but were leaning towards Vtech as the Hubble seems to be a paid subscription. We've also seen a leapfrog one that could also be good.

Like everything else there are always too many choices 🙈

VTech RM7768HD seems to be the best one

We’ve gone for Hubble after our John Lewis baby appointment, the subscription isn’t necessary x

We went for the 7” leapfrog one, which is also made by Vtech

We got the baby sense one, have been using it 2 years and like it! Came with 2 cameras which was what we wanted as we knew we’d need another one :)

@Megan Can you do all the things without the subscription - watching the video back, two way talk etc? Have you tested it out for video quality?

Avatar

Have you tried it out yet to see what it's like? Is it worth paying a bit extra for? Think the one we saw is £199

Avatar

@Laura I never thought about that. Is that for a second room later or do they have to be used in the same room?

to be honest no, baby isn’t here yet but I was just going off reviews I saw on several different shops. I bought it whilst it was on offer in mamas and papas for about £160 - I think it is again now. It was the fact that it had its own screen and didn’t need to be connected to WiFi that sold it to me too, I didn’t want to have to mess around with it if I ever need to use it elsewhere (on holiday or at a family/friends house), also I want to be able to have it on constantly when watching tv or something so it was important to me to not just be accessible on an app (then I wouldn’t be able to use my phone)

yeah you can the subscription is for development tracking, storing videos for up to 15 days things like that it’s all online for you to see what features are free what are paid. I liked the fact it was a thermometer and nightlight too plus you don’t need a wifi signal incase internet goes down or something also can watch it on the viewing device as well as on the app x

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(
