Moms please tell me if this is normal , not that I’m just noticing I just never looked deeply at it. But my 6 month old Top lip seems to be connected to her gums. I just had her appointment the other day, but I didn’t notice until yesterday so I didn’t ask the doctor then. So to avoid having to get her a new appointment, which can take time I’m just asking if anyone else ever seen or experience this.

Hey lovely
This does look like a lip tie. My 6 month olds looked just like this before we had it released (he also had a tongue tie)
Also we were told that lip and tongue ties often coincide so maybe have baby checked for both xx

Did the doctor never mentioned anything when they were checking your babies mouth ?

It seems to be a noticeable lip tie

Its a lip tie. If its not affecting her feeding you may not need it released- but it will cause a gap in her teeth or speech dedicits POTENTIALLY? We got my girls released at 4 months along with tongue but she had a lot of feeding challenges

Definitely get it released along with tongue tie (if she also has this)
Even without feeding issues, a tongue and lip tie can cause baby lots of tension throughout their body as they have to try and compensate for lack of movement in their mouths when feeding, and also digestive issues along with other things
I would recommend having a few sessions with an osteopath before and after having them released.
This will help get rid of any current tension baby will have and also reduces the chance of reattachment.
Try to have the surgery done with a laser if possible xx

They never checked

Ok Thank you

Thanks

Ok I wasn’t too sure. Thanks

Ok Thank you

Ok Thank you

My baby had this, lower and under his tongue.
Usually they won’t do anything unless it causes feeding issues or you advocate to have it released.
Surgery sucks but it’s worth it.

Thanks my oldest daughter literally said the same thing, she did some research of her own, I usually just freak out lol.

totally natural, it’s your little baby!
