Anybody know where I can get free baby stuff?

I quit my job thinking the child’s father was going to assist and it didn’t go the way I thought 🤷‍♀️😮‍💨

Friends and family! Facebook marketplace usually for me sells a lot of stuff on bulk, for cheaper per piece. If you set up a registry with target and Walmart offers a box or bag of free items, basically just trial stuff!

Babylist will send you gifts after spending 30$ on their store, but I believe they also have absolute necessity items too! You can totally try places like food bank type things, my college (community college) even offers free baby things in their food pantry but it is run off of donations. Try local free clinics, some run parenting classes you can attend for free and you get points to spend in their "store" in return!

i use the nextdoor app. there’s usually more people letting go of stuff for free there rather than facebook marketplace. i got a ton of good stuff just from looking at listings from moms selling baby stuff and asking if they had anything they could donate to a new mom in need!

Oh! WIC and state insurance in my area offer benefits too! I will be getting a breast pump and a carseat from my insurance after 33 weeks ♡ all options are certified by the insurance, so you've got a pretty good quality without having to risk getting a carseat or smth secondhand!

Look for a “buy nothing” Facebook page in your area. People are often looking to give away baby stuff they no longer need

Target has a goodie bag for just creating a registry. A few samples and 2 bottles

The Buy Nothing groups on Facebook are great. I’ve gotten sooooo much stuff! There should be one in your area.

did you just call your insurance to get a car seat set up?

Create a target registry and go to the store and get a free samples bag. Usually comes with 2 bottles and sample diapers wipes and more. Sometimes they'll give it to you without scanning your registry and you could come back for a second one. Or make a new account lol

Nursery funding

My child turned 9 months last week. I applied for government funded hours nearly 2 months ago and so well within the required timeframe for the April term, however upon receiving my first invoice without the funding applied and having questioned this, I have now been informed that the stretched funding doesn’t start until 4th May.

Has anyone else been told it won’t start until May?

The government site states it should start from April 1st, and so I intentionally set my nursery start and return to work as the start of April for that reason, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to afford the nursery on my sole income without the funding

Toddlers

How often are your toddlers asking for food? My oldest who is 3 just finished a whole plate of food and not even 10 minutes later he’s requesting more food. I know he’s going through a growth spurt, but how do you respond to this.

He has no respect for anything to do with me.

Husband and I decided to separate 3 days ago. I've been sleeping on the floor in the kids room, and we both have to stay in the same apartment for a while. He wont stop pushing little things and I am reaching my limit. Photos in comments

Is this normal?

Is it just my husband that does this? He is able to work from home via his computer and in the mornings and evenings he is on there doing his job. When he is done for the day he tends to stay in the room and either play video games or watch something. He will occasionally come out and play with the girls for a few minutes and that’s it but when I really need him he says he is busy. My daughters are both 1 year old now and I am just wondering how much involvement should he have with them now?
Idk if this is the norm or not…..

Starting BLW

Yesterday our pediatrician said we could start purées or baby lead feeding. My baby is exclusively breast-fed. She’s already tried some foods, but now we can start with one to two meals a day. This is what my doctor recommends, any ideas for what to make with this??
