Just looking for some advice around feeding solids to LO.
My daughter is nearly 7 months and will hardly eat anything solid. I have tried a few foods with her inc toast, porridge, weetabix, eggs, veg etc but she will just play with it and gag.
How much of the solids is your LO actually eating? I see pictures of full meals given but doesn’t show how much they have actually eaten!
She used to have x2 pouches of purée but now that’s even a struggle!
First time mum so stressing slightly!

I did a course and found that really helpful, they described next 6 months as a ‘tasting journey’ (and textures). Or some say “Food before one is just for fun”. Bf/formula milk is main nutrition food still. Lots of other tips re exposure to allergens or appropriate shape. I think same advice through nhs website.
Course advised only giving stuff like veg initially and will intro more fruit later as it’s higher in sugars.. same with pouches, will only use for convenience when out and about if needed maybe in a few months. I avoid any sugar/salt/processed or low nutrition food. We’ve started with finger food mainly, and he ingests less than half a teaspoon so far!!! And anything soft or mushy can be crazy messy which I want to embrace… ideally. Hah.
But it’s great seeing his coordination and confidence improve.
All this ‘fun’ low pressure exposure meant to help them enjoy and not be fussy eaters in future.

Following as exactly the same here! Our LG is coming up to 7 months, started BLW 2.5 weeks ago once she showed all signs of readiness, and she's really not eating anything. She's mostly doing nothing with it other than giving it a swift prod 😂 If we're lucky she might lick it a bit. We're modelling eating too to show what to do with it.
Tried mashed versions of things too and as soon as she realises there's food on the preloaded spoon she just twirls it in the air whilst staring into space 🤣🥰 She basically puts everything into her mouth except food x

I wouldn't sweat it at this point. Solids aren't for nutrition at this point. It's just for teaching them about food (flavors, textures, how to chew/swallow). Breastmilk/formula should be the primary source of nutrition until about 12 months.
Keep it light and fun. If she's not in the mood, try again later. I've been keeping food sessions short and sweet to try and keep it all very positive and low stress.

Let her explore, it’s such a new world for them it takes them for them to actually eat something. I would say feed different texture, and let her figure it out. She doesn’t have to eat, just explore and she’ll eat when she’s ready. Keep offering every day something new and keep it fun.

Mine doesn’t like to eat anything either doesn’t even want to put it in his mouth when I lay it out for him
