Sterilising Breast Pump

I do because I thought you had to like you would a bottle. Pretty annoying.

I do it once a day.

I would recommend reading your specific pump manual. I sterilised the cups after every use but the wires didn’t need doing every time

I was doing it after every use, I only pump 3/4 times a day as top up but I’ve recently started just doing it once a day and washing/drying thoroughly in between, I have one pipetta pump so if I was out I couldn’t sterilise it anyway and was missing pumping.

No, I have a sterilising/storage box for mine. I rinse it between uses and put it in the fridge until next time to pump. Then in the evening, it gets washed and sterilised ready for the next day

My midwife told me that If you’re using bottles & equipment for breast milk and not formula once a day is ample so long as they’re being rinsed well between uses.

I wash in hot soapy water after each use but sterilise once a day - I was told this was all that was needed as breast milk is antibacterial and you only need to sterilise after every use with formula x

I only rinse in between pump sessions during the day then sterilise at the end of the day so it’s sterilised for the following day
