So I’m currently 28+6 and in hospital with contractions after not being able to eat or drink all day! Has anyone else had this?!

Yes, I had that for two days with vomiting anytime I attempted to eat or drink anything. I obviously couldn’t sleep as well as the contractions were very painful as my LO was back to back. I was overdue by 8 days with that pregnancy.
The contractions never stopped and weren’t consistent (3 mins, 6 mins, 10 mins, 20 mins). On day 3 I was dilated enough to get admitted into hospital as at that point I was in active labour.
I would start timing contractions and keep a pad on. Make sure you have everything you need in your hospital bag as well to get ready.
Call triage for advice just encase they ask you to come up to get checked out. (I.e you’re dilated enough but your waters haven’t broken yet).

It's not uncommon to get contractions if you're starved and dehydrated. Just like you can get cramps in other muscles if you're hungry or dehydrated, the uterus is the same. Xx
So it was all put down to being dehydrated, they checked me over and on the monitor there was big spikes. But my cervix was closed and they did a pre term test and all was ok. Xx
