I joined the gym a couple months ago that has child care and I felt it was much needed for me to just get a couple hours to take a break from my baby and work on my self but ever since she started going to this childcare she’s been getting sick like every two weeks and I feel sooo bad and guilty 😭 should I just pull her out and cancel gym ? I was happy she was getting to make new friends and happy I was doing something for myself but I hate seeing her sick so often and I’ve even been giving her daily vitamins to help but she’s still catching everything. Have any of you experienced this and did anything help ?

Is this her first childcare? All kids will start to get sick alot with their first whether it's group childcare, daycare, or if they stay home til kindergarten -then kindergarten. When in a group setting they are going to be exposed to alot more, very quickly. She's building her immune system.

It just comes with the territory unfortunately. Mine just started going to a preschool and is getting sick just as often. Hopefully when they get to kindergarten they will have strong immune systems and won’t get as sick as other kids at that point! I would keep her in! Sounds like it is good for both of you

This is the story of my life. We put my son in daycare once he turned 1. He has been sick once a month since started. He got 7 ear infections the first 6 months going. He just got HFMD after 2 other kids got it at school. So we have to take off to be home with him and I haven’t been able to go to the gym, which is my only me time. But I know how much he loves school, he makes friends, he is developing, and it will “build his immune system” they say

I hear probiotics are supposed to help some? It might be worth a try.
Thank you all so much. I keep reading this will build up her immune system too and she’ll have to eventually deal with it wether it’s now or when she starts school. I think my biggest fear is her catching the scarier things like rsv that’s just around the corner. I become super anxious whenever she gets sick.
I’ve been trying mary Ruth’s multi vitamin , herbals , and probiotic. She still seems to be getting sick every two weeks unfortunately :/ will still keep trying them tho

My son had both human metapneumovirus and COVID before 9 months old. While COVID, RSV, and hMPV are all scary respiratory illnesses, the most dangerous is before 1 and elderly. Neither of which are true for our kids now (unless there are other underlying health issues). Will it easier once they can talk and communicate what hurts, how they feel, what they want? Absolutely! Will there be much difference in lasting health effects at nearly 2 years old vs 4 or 6 yrs old? No.
I am assuming you are doing like a drop off hour or so childcare at your gym. I'm not sure how busy it is, but maybe talk to the staff and see if there is a less busy time and try to go then? Or ask them about their cleaning- they might do it mid day or morning before open/eve after close and you could do your workouts right after the cleaning time.
