It's a huge life adjustment, not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally

I'm soooo happy I can work.
do you regret staying home? Or are you glad you get to stay home

It depends on what your mentality is about being a mom. It’s a huge sacrifice and commitment to always being present for your child. You will have more opportunities to bond, meet their needs, guide, learn and grow together, but that also means more time that will challenge you and expose your areas for improvement. I’ve been doing it for three years now and it’s the best/hardest thing I’ve done. Going to work is like a break because you can do something else and not be managing your and your kid’s emotions all day long, along with everything else you might do at home (cook/clean/etc.). For me, I decided I wanted to raise my child during his most formative years because I was in daycare from six weeks old and it definitely had an affect on the relationship between my mother and me. Not to mention it eliminates so many challenges between 0-3 yrs when they are biologically wired to be around you most. No need to get dressed, rush out the door, & separate for the day before they’re ready.

Honestly you have to have a strong mindset to be a stay at home mom and wife
Just a heads up if you do become one
Be prepared they’re will be lots of backlash from family and friends and maybe your partner
So you need to have a strong mindset with the judgemental comments

I’m currently 2 years as a SHW and we have a 4 mo boy. All i can say is this is not mentally easy. I used to be so happy with my professional life (and used to be THE BOSS) now I’m reinventing myself all the time, most of times I don’t know what I’m doing and absolutely hate when others came with advices. What makes me keep my desicion is I want the best for my boy, raise him and bond as much as I can. I’m don’t regretting my choice just some times need to remember this is a completely new way of life, I am learning and growing with my family.
For each woman is a unique process I hope yours can be for the best .

I don't regret it but it is a lot of work as you basically can never be off or have a break since your full-time job is mom. It's more taxing and more stressful than my 50+ hour management job from before and I had about 50 people under me 🙃. But I wouldn't give up being able to be with my baby every minute of every day that I have so far.

I'm glad to be a saham, it's safer for our family. We were able to be careful about covid, avoid rsv also, and be in charge of babys learning and he's excelling. It's also nice to be able to do fun activities like the beach, parks, fishing, trail hikes, zoo, etc whenever we want to and avoid large crowds.
It was the right choice for us. But it is also a tough job. I'd say it's awesome if you have a supportive and understanding partner that makes enough money.

I did it because we couldn't afford the childcare, so this was our only option. I did regret it at times, especially in the beginning because I had really bad postpartum and no external support for help. It's just me and baby so breaks are and few in between. On the other hands, I'm doing what's best for my son who gets individual attention and is developing amazingly well. SAHM situation has its extreme highs like when you're physically there when your baby hits a milestones that you two been working on together and it's got its extreme lows of lack of personal or adult when you feel overwhelmed, over worked, and breakdowns.

How much do you trust your fiance? Being a sahm is putting yourself in a position to be financially abused. If you don't have easy enough access to funds to pay for everyday incidentals, or if he has the mentality that the money he gets paid from work is HIS instead Y'ALL'S money- don't do it. If you would have to ask him for every dime- nope.
I still have postpartum my son is 9 months and I think going back to work helped some so that’s one thing that scares me.

I love it x

Like everyone else has said, it’s a lot emotionally and mentally. You’re basically on the job 24/7. By the end of the week I just want all the alone time I can get but of course my husband wants to spend time with baby AND me lol it’s definitely great being able to see my baby grow and learn and know she’s safe but there’s a lot more work and sacrifices to it than a lot of people think

I work Saturdays and Sundays and socially and emotionally I need it. Now that buddy is getting older I would like to have weekends free, but it is nice to have my 2 days a week where I am not in my house and responsible for kiddo.
